We pay out over $400 a month to Rent A Center for our appliances and a television. Our television was on the Fritz so we requested it be serviced and we were granted a loaner while ours was being serviced. Upon returning our television, the girl unhooked our playstation3 and our cable box from it and instead of picking it up, just scooted it sideways knocking our playstation off into the floor. Her response? Oops. We hooked it back up after our television was put back and it played the game it had in it. HOWEVER, when we tried to put in another disk it wouldn't pull it in the gaming console. I called my local store where I had my account and was informed that I could bring it into their store and they would see what they could do with it. I told them I didn't want someone in their store to be fiddling around with it since they weren't certified to do gaming console repair. Then the sales rep went even further and asked "well, why didn't you have the area cleared when we brought the television back?" I informed him that was not the issue at hand, and I wanted it to be fixed or replaced. he told me to bring it into them and they would see what they could do with it and if they couldn't do anything then they would send it to their service department in Nashville. I told him I didn't buy it from Rent A Center and I wanted it fixed locally. He told me I didn't have that option that their only option was to send it to "their" people. I called the customer service department for the whole company on Friday and requested to speak with a district manager. I called again on Saturday when he hadn't returned my call. I tried to call again on Monday and finally received a call back from a district manager. I told him what happened and that I wanted it repaired locally. He told me he couldn't authorize that and they would have no way to pay for it. I told him I was taking it to Digital Docs which have licensed certified technicians and whatever it costs if I had to pay for it then made the offer they could just take it off my rental fee for the week I had to pay for it. Total cost estimated to get it repaired is going to be $125-$150. He said the most he could do would be to take off $75.00 at best. I guess customers don't really matter to Rent-A-Center. I guess the only thing that matters is that they get their money. Thanks Rent-A-Center. Any new rentals I will go to Aarons. Or I will go without before I rent anything else from them.
