The objective of the Renton Hostage Negotiations Team (RHNT) is to peacefully resolve higher risk police operations or crisis situations while minimizing the risk of injury or loss of life to the people involved. We are a part of the Valley Hostage Negotiations Team (VHNT) which consists of Renton, Auburn, Tukwila, Kent, Federal Way and the Port of Seattle and can respond to any of these cities when a crisis arises.

If Renton Police Department is short-staffed, I blame Mayor Law. They are overworked & underpaid besides putting their lives on the line, constantly. Love to see officers interact with the community, including playing bball w kiddos. Animal Control performs miracles out of little to work with! I have learned a ton watching how things work on a case by case level.

The way these cops handle the street racers is dumb and out right dangerous, i get it theybare breaking the law, but driving through croweds of people and cars at speeds of 50 to 60 miles an hour just to bust someone doing a burn out.. this needs to stop, the cops cause more crashes than the street racers do.... find a new way to shut it down, and dont risk the lives of the oficers and kids down there...

Had my car broken into right in front of my home. Over $1000 worth of items were stolen. Called police as soon as I noticed it. Spoke with Kerkhoff. I was told to file an online report. Ok... how about dusting for prints? Nope. The value isn't high enough for them to care. All he cared about was the address, where I worked, and when I told him the value, he said it was a misdemeanor and not worth their effort. I have since moved out of HIGH CRIME Renton. That was, by far, the worst city I ever lived in since I moved to Washington. What a DUMP and the police are useless.

Went to go eat and parked my car for 30 minutes. My car got broken into and over $1200 worth of stuff was stolen. Months later,I get a letter from them asking if I ever retrieved my stolen property. What?! How would I retrieve my stolen stuff?! What do these cops actually do?!

I saw a girl in a car screaming and she said she was scared. I followed the car until it ditched me. The license number is AXH2579. A dark colored small car with the trunk tied shut. I thought it might just be teenage drama and now i think of it, she may have been in trouble. I called the Renton police they tranxferred me to the State patrol. They transferred me to a non emergency line where I listened to a recording. I'm pissed! I hope shes ok!@@!@@@@@@Q
