Heather at The Retreat has been my hairdresser for many years, and she is the absolute best for ladies with long hair. The Retreat is a very well-ran salon. All of the employees act in a professional manner while maintaining a high quality of customer service and satisfaction. A true testament to any type of service-oriented business is the rate of turnover in their employees. I have consistently seen the same faces over the years, which I appreciate, and also recognize that to be a sign of a great business. Highly recommend this salon.

WOW.  I saw Rebecca yesterday and didn't just get a haircut; I got a total confidence boost!  I have never had a haircut experience like I had yesterday.  I've been to stylists who give me eye rolls as I take my hair out of the messy bun and begin to express frustration/apology about the thick, half-curly mass that falls out.  I usually leave haircuts feeling like I settled because my hair and I were an inconvenience stylists didn't have time for, but after I expressed my hair frustrations to Rebecca, she said, "Let's let all that beauty down." With every turn of my head and snip of hair, Rebecca continued to reassure me that my hair was beautiful and she was going to do everything she could to help my hair work with itself as I grow it out. She had great recommendations for enhancing what I could do with my hair within my routine, and was very conscientious of my lifestyle as she worked through my haircut. I got a whole new confidence in my hair yesterday, thanks to Rebecca. She's a fantastic person and a great stylist!  As far as The Retreat itself goes, it's a great environment with friendly staff.  It's a little pricey, but well worth it for knowing you'll get a great haircut and feel like you're worth their time!

This establishment is locally owned but they act as if they are an airline... That is, they simply don't care about customer service. They apparently don't pay well and technicians rely on tips; no problem is ever their fault. On the separate occasions we have experienced problems and attempted to resolve amicably. However, The Retreat has resisted and balked. I do not recommend visiting this business.

Staff at the retreat help create an open, warm atmosphere that is unpretentious. Parking can be a little tight in the lot, but there's ample street parking. This space feels more inviting than their previous location on 9th; they are focused on core services, and do them well.

This place is cruel and doesn't care about customer satisfaction. My mom came into this place a few months back in search for a hair treatment. Her desired treatment was that her hair be dyed blonde. After they "did their job" they charged her full price at around 250-300 dollars and my mom left in tears. The treatment had turned her hair orange and she hated it. My sister  then went into the establishment asking for them to fix it, but people didnt seem to care. There was no offer to fix it for discounted price and no discount for work that They messed up on. She left with orange hair instead of blonde and a bit of a self esteem blow; as well as a good chunk of money wasted. These people robbed my mom as she had to make another appointment with another establishment. I would give a zero rating if I could.
