Truly amazing dinning experience, can’t wait till I go back to Boston so that I can dine here again. Great location, lively inside, food and drinks all taste amazing. Great service, waiter was super knowledgeable. There was a live violinist and singer for about 35 minutes while we were there which was a cool surprise We did have a reservation for 7:45pm, our first mistake was walking the wrong way which then resulted in us being about 10 minutes late. We then had to wait a bit longer, got seated at 8:20pm. But definitely worth the wait
We had an amazing time here. Wine tasting and wonderful food. Tony from Santa Barbara was the best. We will be back. And often. Could be the new Sunday Funday spot!!Food: 5/5
Great vibes and great food. I went to Riccardo’s Ristorante for my birthday. On my sister's recommendation, my friends and I ventured in, and I can say, she was spot on. The claim of being the best authentic Italian spot in Boston is no exaggeration. I tried Gnocchi alla Sorrentina and the taste took me right back to Rome, bringing back memories and culinary nostalgia. The flavors were just impeccable. However, it's worth noting that popularity comes at a price - the restaurant can get quite crowded. So, I recommend booking a reservation.
Food: Hit and miss on the dishes here. The shrimp cocktail was really really, I mean really bad and dry and the cocktail sauce was pretty disgusting over the wilted salad worse than the worse of frozen supermarket cocktail shrimps. The grilled octopus appetizer was fair, but again the salad that it was placed on was a less than average tasting placeholder and ruined the whole dish for me. The Linguini alla Vongole clams was very good in all aspects from texture to the white wine garlic seafood flavor, but it could use some salt still. Drink pistachios Martini was kinda pricy and was too sweet. Service: Quick, friendly, and attentive. No complaints here! Atmosphere: A very family friendly restaurant with many kids which might be a minus for some, but I don't mind because they can reserve ahead. It's a nice romantic place as well. Not the most fashionable and chic place in North End, but it has the old world charm. Restroom facilities can use some fixing and cleaning, a bit grossed out. Overall, I probably will not come back or recommend, given there are many other competitions in North End to try. Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids here!
The food was excellent but our server Tommy was the highlight of our visit! Super attentive and personable. Took care of explaining smaller kid portions and made my mom feel comfortable despite her difficulty hearing things. Lasagna was very good, rich with whipped ricotta. Octopus app, rack of lamb, meatballs and spinach salad were all raved about. Highly recommend.
We dined here on Christmas Eve, and we were seated immediately at a beautiful table upstairs by the window. The food was some of the best Italian I’ve ever had and came very quickly, facilitated by our server, Rahim, who really tied the experience together. He and was so on top of all of our needs and gave us the best recommendations, on top of making sure we never saw the bottom of our glasses of Prosecco. We started with the Calamari and Mesculin Insalata, which I would both highly recommend. For entrees we shared the lobster ravioli and Fusilli con Gamberi, which Rahim recommended and we were so glad he did. Both pastas were a perfect al dente and the sauces were to die for. We finished with the cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert, and got in an intense argument over which reigned supreme because both were so great. We’re from out of town but will definitely be coming back here anytime we’re in Boston. Thank you so much to Rahim and the team for having us on Christmas Eve!
Visiting Boston, of course you go for Italian. Ex NY'er here. The north end eateries are as good, maybe better than what I'm used to in NY The Yankees still rule but we can argue later over a cannoli. My daughter picked this place, rather randomly, and it did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was very good. The olive oil for the bread must have had some addicting substance in it because I couldn't stop eating it. Actually, I loved it.
The wine was good, Cesar salad-good. Eggplant Parmigiana thick cut and under cooked-tough. The accordion player and vocalist were nice touches. Just bring cash for a tip. The others like their food. So many choices in the North End, so I won't be back soon.Food: 3/5
