Rice village is cool. It's about as average a shopping experience as you might expect. There's a lot of cool restaurants around. They've recently installed parking meters so that kind of made things more complicated for people but the parking meters aren't super expensive.

Nearly all parking minus the garage is going to metered parking. I am talking all lot and street spaces. Better off going to the Galleria. As for shops, decent selection although I mostly come here for the bars to hang out. Bars or decent, but for the extra money paying to park I could net another beer closer to home.

Love the ambiance. Great area to walk and shop and dine! Stopped at a food truck the other day that offered ice cream in a donut cone - must try!

Upscale area, shops/restaurants are too. If you're parking in the garage, there is a 2hr leeway for dining (as we were told by our server at D'amico's), but be prepared to pay if you exceed that time frame. I had parked on the street, which during regular business hours, is metered, not in the evening, but realize any 'free' parking is extremely limited. After we left from dinner, she had to pay to exit the garage since she had entered more than two hours, $2.

Nice shopping area. Plenty of shops and restaurants to visit. Parking in the garage is free if visit is under two hours. There's also metered parking around the area if you don't want to park in the garage.
