Rickert & Beagle Books is a used and new book store specializing in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. We also have an extensive History section and plenty of books on the Arts, UFOlogy, Spirituality and almost any other topic you can think of.

Story

Rickert & Beagle Books was originally named Eljay's Used Books and opened over 15 years ago in the South Side of Pittsburgh. Co-owner Chris Rickert's partners retired from bookselling in 2013, leaving her with an fabulous store and in need of a new partner. In October of 2013 author Peter S Beagle agreed to help spread the word about the store and Chris renamed the store after herself and her "patron" Peter.

Continuing the tradition of Eljay's Books, Rickert & Beagle Books focuses on genre fiction, weird non-fiction and history. We carry a large collection of first editions, signed books, new works by local authors and small press titles you won't find in chain stores. Bargain hunters can find plenty of titles in our $6 for 3 paperbacks section and our "Pay What You Want" section while collectors will find beautiful leather bound books, rare firsts and other high-end treasures. And between those two extremes are thousands of books priced between $5 and $12 for readers of all ages and interests.

Rickert & Beagle Books offers a number of services to book lovers including special ordering of new and used titles, book searches for hard to find books, and protective mylar coverings for dust jackets.

Rickert & Beagle Books also proudly supports local artists and authors with signings and display spaces.
