I usually have good experiences their but the past two times have been terrible and I have cried both times when I left. Today I got a dip like normal and I asked for tips on the end. They made my nails a lot shorter instead of longer. They cut them shorter than my finger. They left them uneven and not smooth. They also made my cuticles bleed. But some workers are better than others. I wasn’t paying attention and I didn’t know that there wasn’t tips until they were almost done. One of the workers asked to see my nails and she even looked like she wasn’t happy and she was picking of the excess powder that was still on my nail. I told my friend and showed her a picture and she says it wasn’t worth the $40 I paid for it.

I stopped in to Rio Nail Bar because my regular nail salon was closed and Rio is close to my home.  NEVER AGAIN!!  Before I even began, I had to wait for the guy to go have a smoke break.  I went for a manicure with gel color.  It was the worst manicure I have ever had - all he did was file my nails and apply the color.  He worked so quickly I felt like he was trying to set a PR for doing my nails.  The biggest shock was when I went to pay - extremely expensive and definitely not worth the price.  I will not be going  back and will not recommend them to anyone

Super bummed with my experience. I met a dear friend  there who we hadn't seen each other in quite awhile, we made an appointment for 4:00- we didn't get sat down until 4:20 and they tried to make us sit across the salon from each other. Next, they did our nails in about 20 minutes flat, no "manicure" about it-- basically filed our nails and painted them. Definitely not impressed and will not be going back.  It was  not worth the time or money when other places in Ankeny will provide a much better atmosphere and nail service.

Never been in so much pain while getting my nails done. I’m never going back to rio definitely recommend Venus nails across the street I was very impressed on how much better my nails were!!
