If the Captain of this fire department, Greg Adams isn't the rudest person in Temecula, I don't know who is.  I live by myself, I'm 5'2" and between 80 and 85 lbs.  One of my smoke detectors started beeping last night which drove my 95 lb labadore  crazy.  Needless to say - I didn't get much sleep.  

Even though I have a ladder tall enough to reach that area, it's simply too heavy for me to carry into the house.  And above all, I am located about 1/4 mile from the station (#92)  He started yelling at me as if I was some kind of idiot.  Told me he wouldn't come out unless I had nine volts batteries for each smoke detector in the house which there are seven.  He screams - "well until you get batteries I won't be out there.  We have other work to attend to.

The thing that strikes me funny is that ever 6 months or so both the police dept and fire dept call and ask for "handouts" (donations).  They get paid.  WE pay them through our taxes.  Fire captains like that, Temecula can do without!
