Story

Rodes is a family-owned restaurant, full service bar, fresh seafood and produce market and gift shop – all conveniently located under one roof – and right on Bonita Beach Road just a half mile west of US 41. Lunch begins at 11am and dinner is served beginning at 4pm. We’re known for fresh seafood, but every dish we serve is cooked to perfection. We look forward to meeting you in the near future.

$65 lunch, ordered grouper, paid for grouper, got something that was not grouper. (I assure you, I know the difference, and will update the next time I have the type of fish I had there. I just couldn't place the taste.) Other order was a beef sandwich with meat so chewy it was like rubber. Severely disappointed. We still go to the seafood market next door regularly (during off season when prices are reasonable).

They've got fresh seafood in their seafood market, and their little tourist shop is cute. For a while they really went downhill, but we'd heard they made changes so we went to lunch there. $65 later we were thoroughly disgusted. I ordered and was charged for grouper, and I assure you that it was not grouper! I couldn't quite place the fish they substituted, but as soon as I do I'll update. Bottom line is that we won't be back, and will share our experience with others to save them eating their time and money.

Class act from owner who cancelled our bill. Still left a nice tip. Normally the food (especially the fish and chips) are great but in season on a Friday night kitchen isn't the greatest. We live here 10 months out of the year so it's always a shock when "Season" is in full swing. When our server said "Dessert?" before we received meal it was a surprise. We will be back when things settle down. The norm is good food and service.

I LOVE to stop in Rode's Fish Market, which is on the backside of the Fresh Market !! They always have a great variety of fresh fish and seafood. If you have any questions, ask Buck..... he's very knowledgeable and experienced and is always happy to help in any way!! The restaurant has a great menu with very reasonable prices. Next time you're on Bonita Beach Road, make sure that you stop in and check it out!! You won't regret it... Local people who are lots of fun!!
