Rolling Green Memorial Park was founded in 1938. It was originally a farm and later served as the Chester County Fairgrounds, which hosted automobile and horse racing. When the property was sold to Rolling Green in February 1938, its heritage as the Philadelphia area's premier African-American cemetery had begun.
