Story

Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens is a privately owned cemetery founded in 1931 to serve the local communities.

It sits on twelve gently rolling acres contiguous to Crystal City neighborhoods, public parks, the Catholic Cemetery, and with easy access to Highway 61-67.

After eighty-five years of continuous ownership by the Lucas family, Rose Lawn was sold to a small pool of local investors in September of 2016. At that time, Scott Gray was named Managing Director.

There have been many recent changes and improvements to the grounds with many more on the horizon.

Old Glory now flies prominently as a tribute to those who served our country dutifully and honorably. Their memorials, prominent on Rose Lawn’s grounds, also serve as a somber reminder of lives lost much too early.

A seventy-two niche columbarium was installed to offer an alternative to in-ground cremation burials. Columbariums also offer a solution to the ever increasing costs of saying goodbye to a loved one.

Significant tree and stump removal, ground repair, sod replacement, and a greater emphasis on trimming and cutting have made the grounds much more visually appealing and safer to navigate.

Also, to better serve Rose Lawn’s families, a full line of granite products (markers, monuments and vases) and bronze markers are now available and very competitively priced.

Soon, a multi-phase development fronting 11th Street will feature new lots for purchase, road extension, tree removal, tree replacement, and paved pathways to allow for better access on the property.

Other projects scheduled for 2017 include road maintenance, signage improvement, and a makeover to the mausoleum. Additionally, new programs and events will be announced that will engage families and friends in collectively honoring their loved ones.

There will be heavy emphasis placed on improving our website so that we may better communicate and interact with the community. Mapping tools and access to our database of Rose Lawn burials will soon provide an aid for locating grave spaces of family and friends.

Rose Lawn and its management are committed to maintaining and improving the beauty of our property and better serving the needs and expectations of the families whose loved ones make this their final resting place.

Please contact us should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We value your input.

As a response to the previous post. There are many contracted individuals/companies involved with the loss of a loved one. Funeral directors, florists, clergy, vault companies and those that open and close grave sites are just some of those involved. I am not certain the specifics of your unfortunate visit to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. I AM certain that Rose Lawn personnel are never involved with the graveside service in any capacity. I will pass this information along to those parties that are engaged in that process so that any disrespectful actions are avoided in the future. Hopefully this clarifies and educates this critic so that unwarranted attacks on Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens and its personnel are laid to rest. Scott Gray Managing Director Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens

Attending a burial service and not only did they nearly drop the casket, the lift was very jerked and inconsiderate, like it was a heavy item being flung upon the braces, not including a person. Also, the groundspeople were walking up with shovels in hand seconds after the prayer, while everyone was grieving and preparing to leave for repasse. None of us could believe our eyes. They are definitely in the wrong line of work. Nauseating.
