Story

Pete Plamondon, Sr. believed so strongly in the original Roy Rogers brand that he left Marriott to become a Roy Rogers franchisee, eventually purchasing the chain himself. Knowing that the best way to keep Roy Rogers true to its original vision was to keep it in the family, Plamondon, Sr. sold the business to his sons, Pete Jr. and Jim, in 1998. Over the past two decades, the Plamondon brothers have helped open and operate multiple Roy Rogers Restaurants, maintaining their father's vision for offering guests an experience above and beyond that of most fast food restaurants. Today, the Plamondon Companies remains faithful to the Roy Rogers tradition of serving an appealing choise of menu items, made with the best ingredients, and served in a comfortable, enjoyable setting. That commitment has resulted in steady growth foe our company and a fiercely loyal following throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.

The Roy Rogers is excellent. I always get a roast beef sandwich and baked beans when I go here. That's one of the things that sets them apart they don't just serve french fries as a side they have a number of different side items. And they do not have a problem with substituting one or the other in your value meal. They have a fixings bar inside or you can get a fixings cup to go that usually contains tomato lettuce and onion to go on your sandwich. They also offer ketchup horseradish sauce and barbecue sauce and occasionally some special ones. This one even has Hershey's ice cream it makes an excellent dessert. This is one of my favorite ones to go to and as mentioned other reviews there are three or four other fast food chains right in the area but this one definitely stands above them all.

With 3 fast food chains within a block the competition is fierce but this particular Roy's stand above them in all. Clean atmosphere and the hiring manager does a nice job of selecting local teens to staff the restaurant. Very customer service oriented and professional. I hope they can keep it up! Food is always good, every once in a while they'll serve chicken that's been out a while and turned dry but it's normally on their slower days when it doesn't sell as quickly. It's sits off of a highly traveled road on the weekends so it can become a bit busy when the tour buses come through.

Hands down, Roy's has the best fast food in America. And this location has an amazing staff. Attentive, fast and courteous. Always make a point of stopping when traveling to and from Washington, DC.

Best roast beef sandwiches for fast food. Wish there were more of these places. Also fixin's bar is better with fresh vegetables.

How nice it was to eat a Roy Roger's before Hardee's bought them up, just for their chicken recipe, only to man years later go Carl's Jr. no longer selling it. If you're "fortunate" (read: older) enough to remember RR from the 80's, you'll know exactly why "those other guy's that rhyme with Parby's" is pleef (plastic beef) in texture and taste. I long for the day that Roy Roger's is back to full strength with over 650 stores again. But for now, I make it a point regardless of time of day, to stop off here on my way to Pennsylvania from South Carolina. If you have never tried Roy Roger's, it's an absolute must. Roast Beef (it looks, feels and tastes real, because it is..unprocessed non-liquified into a gelatinous blob then cooked like that other place does), Double R burger, chicken, it doesn't matter, all is good. Like your Roast Beef or Doubke R burger with certain fixin's, don't fret, they not only offer self serve fresh tomatoes, onions, lettuce, etc. but they don't charge any extra for them! Make it just like you like it. Don't forget the Roy's Sauce on that roast beef though (your choice if you want it, but know it comes highly recommended). Just had Roy Roger's on the way back from Pennsylvania to South Carolina last night and already missing this place. Kudos Plamondon Companies, for bringing back THE roast beef sandwich chain!
