First time at Roy’s was for Baltimore Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint. Location is in harbor east right on Aliceanna Street. Valet is available for dinner. ($9 with validation). The restaurant itself is nice on the inside and has a warm ambience that sets it apart from most places. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a few drinks and the restaurant week special which included three courses for $35, a great deal for this type of higher end cuisine. Everything from the crab Ran-goons, to the lamb shanks, to the chocolate torte was cooked perfectly and the flavors were so rich and decadent. I will definitely be coming back to sample the full menu.

Great food. Had a Poke bowl, prime rib, and wedge salad instead of dessert. On Sunday and Monday evenings at this location you can choose an appetizer, entree and dessert for a fixed price. Our waiter was fantastic. Unfortunately he was the only one there.

Food is just okay — for the price, I expected it to be better. I got the Butter Seared Georges Bank Sea Scallops, which was somewhat bland. My boyfriend got the Classic Four — I tried some of it and only liked one of the four (I think the butterfish). We shared the lime tart for dessert, which was also nothing special. Atmosphere was good, although I expected it to be a bit more upscale for the price — there were plenty of people in jeans and t-shirt for Saturday night dinner. Servers were nice. I went for my anniversary with my boyfriend and they had put a happy anniversary card with flowers on the table when we arrived, which was sweet.

A small group of us made reservations at Roy’s to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The service was bare minimum. The server was okay, but what really sealed the deal on this particular visit was the amount of time we had to wait for our food. We placed our entrees and apps at the same time, because we had other events to attend for the night. It took well over an hour to receive our entree. We inquired about our food several times and were given no real answers. A manager named peter came to attempt to apologize, but only made matter worst . He was very dismissive and gave a half apology, he couldn’t tell us when our food would come. We grew even more angry by the minute. Finally the food arrived and half of our entrees were room temperature. Luckily, the manager Meghan F. came at the end of the night to give her most sincere apologies. She took the birthday girls meal off of the bill as well as the appetizers and drinks. The birthday girl was also given Thank you Meghan and thank you ryan (our server) who had to deal with our dissatisfaction all night .
