TL;DR: words don't do the chocolates any justice. You need a box, trust me. Maybe even two boxes... I had this place on the top of my list for a trip I had planned to Japan. BUT, my trip got canceled...twice. One for the typhoon that happened and the other time was for the pandemic. I was so disappointed and was super salty about not being able to rebook my flight! I haven't been able to rebook my trip since because Japan still isn't open and I was really excited when I found that there was a ROYCE' Chocolate here on the eastside! *tears of joy* Located on the second floor of the Bellevue Square Mall just outside of Macy's. Parking: nearby parking garages. Best to park near Macy's for minimum walking distance. Atmosphere: The interior of the store is so clean and crisp and almost reminds me of a makeup counter but for chocolate! But I wouldn't mind getting this on my face either, haha! Service: you will be greeted, offered a sample, and be verbally given info on the chocolate. There are seasonal flavors so make sure you nab something! You won't be disappointed! The chocolates I purchased came with a small ice pack and insulated packaging that would keep the sweets cool for up to 3 hours - all neatly packed in a cute pink Royce' drawstring bag and placed in a paper gift bag. Packaging was above and beyond my expectations. For the quality and quantity and packaging of these sweets, the price is really reasonable! The Nama Chocolates I tried were so decadent and buttery smooth! The best texture of chocolate I've had and the fact that they need to be refrigerated tells you just how fresh these chocolates taste! "Nama" means "fresh". So cool how they use Hokkaido milk in the Nama Chocolate line - you can taste the smoothness and richness! Ghana Bitter: my favorite. It was sweet but had a satisfying, muted dark chocolate aftertaste. Au Lait: chocolate for the chocolate lover. Very uniformly flavored with no aftertaste. Matcha: very sweet with a creamy aftertaste of green tea. I personally would like a stronger matcha flavor. Orange and Mango: seasonal flavor and I was not disappointed! Smooth, rich, and tastes almost like orange creamsicle! Was not too overpowering in sweetness either, which was surprising to me. Ranking from sweet to most sweet: Orange and Mango, Ghana Bitter, Au Lait, Matcha. I ended up purchasing the Nama Chocolate seasonal flavor Orange and Mango and was not disappointed! Smooth, rich, and tastes almost like orange creamsicle!
Super happy to know there’s Royce in Bellevue! One of the world’s best raw chocolate for sure. Grab the signature mocha flavor and the smell and taste is really delicate. Would love to come back and try out all the other flavors. Staff in the store very attentive. Highly recommend!
Royce’ Chocolate is pure bliss! Originally made from Hokkaido, Japan, these chocolates can be found at limited high-end locations around the world. Bellevue Mall is very lucky to have Royce’ Chocolates. If you’ve ever been to Japan, you may have seen or tasted the elegant and delicious Royce’ Chocolate! These chocolates are fancy and made for a sophisticated experience. They come in small boxes but have such a big flavor. The packaging alone has the English translation on the outside plastic so you know which flavor you have. The box itself has ROYCE CHOCOLATE repeated in spot UV coating. Once you open the box, you’ll find the chocolates inside a food-grade wrapper with the Royce Chocolate stamped repeatedly in gold text. Within this wrapping, you’ll find a mini spatula to scoop out the truffle blocks from the plastic liner. Be sure to keep these chocolate truffles refrigerated, as they are like butter! These make the perfect gift for any chocolate lover! Go ahead and try them — Royce’ Chocolate is simply divine!
The chocolates melts in your mouth... none like other chocolates I have tried before, can be quite expensive than your regular chocolate but so worth the price! They have a meticulous way of handling their product, such a nice touch, making sure that the quality stays and experience the oh so chocolate goodness!
My husband loves their nama chocolate so much. They offer very nice ice packs and cooler bags can keep cold for hours.
Don't need to go to Japan anymore to get these! They're so hard to carry back cuz the raw chocolate needs to be kept cold. This store also carries other products that you cant find at the airport like wafers and chocolate covered potato chips.
This is the best chocolate brand. It tastes amazing, melts in your mouth. Highly recommend!
Not a big fan of chocolate but SUPER LOVE ROYCE’ Chocolate!!!!!! Great quality and very yummy :D
Absolutely unbelievable chocolate. Unique flavors and craftsmanship anchored by really warm, friendly, and helpful staff. My chocolates survived the journey to Austin!
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I ended up buying the hazelnut wafers and they were very delicious. These chocolates are perfect for gifts because they are so elegantly packaged. No complaints, highly recommend.
