I was on vacation in Catalina, several years ago, and my then teenage son came back to our hotel and told me about this wonderful lady he met and that she was an Artist and had a gallery in town and was VERY excited that I go see her work.  (This made a deep impression on me, as my son was rarely excited about anything.)
I followed him to the gallery, and there, through the large front window, I saw a woman with long luscious red hair sitting at a canvas painting water....something that had always been my own biggest challenge in my art.  I went into the gallery and immediately felt a peace wash over me.
I stood entranced, silently watching Ruth paint.
She turned and greeted me warmly, and greeted my son (behind me) like she had known him for years.
She put down her brushes and took me on a personal tour of her gallery, explaining and illuminating her many paintings to me, and showed me new ways to "see" so that I could better "translate" what I see into art.
I thank God, as well as Ruth, for that day.  
Ruth is one of the most incredible and inspirational women I have ever met.  Her spirit and beauty shine through her "being" and her art.
