Story

Whitney Gallery Established in Laguna Beach in 1991.

Marc and I moved back to southern California after living 9 years in downtown Philadelphia while Marc attended PAFA, Frudakis Academy, and the Art Institute. After graduating PAFA we came back to Laguna Beach.

Marc has always had a love for Laguna Beach. When Marc was a child he attended The Laguna Beach School of Art now (LCAD) At the young age of 14 he was excepted into their summer art program, he was the youngest to attend and was not allowed to attend the classes with live models. Probably much to his disappointment as he enjoys painting the figure. Marc was quickly excepted by his art teachers as a young talented artist.

In 1991 we opened our first art gallery Whitney Gallery in Laguna Beach on PCH across from the Surf and Sand Hotel, Marc would paint the paintings and I would run the gallery. Now many years later and several different locations we have survived the ups and downs of the gallery business. We have met so many wonderful people and have had fun hearing all their stories. People talking about Marc as the artist that paints the unmade beds, stories "Oh! we found this great artist in Laguna Beach he paints unmade beds" "Well did you ever see what's over our bed?" We are so happy that people want Marc's work to hang in their homes and businesses. Marc's paintings make you feel good they have a story, Marc invites the viewer into the paintings, no matter what the subject is, his paintings have sole, not just a pretty picture but the true meaning of art, they provoke feelings, this is why Marc is a great artist, it is the feelings the paintings give you, beautifully painted, something that you can enjoy everyday, they are timeless.
