After a rough day of travel, we were in desperate need of some authentic NYC pizza so we decided to walk here. S&S is a rather small place but it was some of the best pizza I've ever had. We decided to order a half pepperoni half cheese pizza. S&S has very limited seating but we decided to eat there anyway (this was before discovering they have free delivery). I'm glad we decided to eat there because we got to watch the pizza be made and chat with the owner who was super friendly. He has owned this same spot for 40 years and is from Sicily. He knows his way around a pizza though. This was the best god damned pizza I've ever had. Cooked perfectly with the ideal ratio of sauce to cheese. The crust was amazing. The actually restaurant is a bit dingy and is in need of an upgrade but don't let the looks fool you. We ended up paying I think $18 for the entire pizza and it was worth every penny. Sure you can get dollar pizza in Astoria but I definitely would recommend paying a little extra to get pizza from S&S.

Very nice place with great pizza. The owner is very pleasant and nice if you have the chance and decide to stop in and eat there. I decided to order there on the spot and I got to see the pizza get made in front of me, from the dough being shaped to the toppings being added.

A hidden gem...for all you people who come to N.Y...this is old school N.Y. pizza....simple....enjoy

Remember going to this pizza shot back in the 70s. Had one of the best meatball sub to this day. I remember getting suspended from lunch at PS 171 and having to grab a slice or two LOL.

The Greatest pizza in all of Astoria. First time here i was 6 yrs old. 24 yrs later still loyal to this pizza shop. Thank you Carmelo for making the best pizza.
