Sacred Heart School is a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence located in West Des Moines, Iowa, established in 1954.

Story

Sacred Heart School strives to be a faith sharing community which is a part of the
larger Christian community of Sacred Heart Parish.

The primary purpose of Sacred Heart School is to assist parents in the Catholic education of their children by:
- building on Christian ideals and attitudes established at home.
-working toward development as true Christians who affirm the diversity that exists in our world.

Sacred Heart School will work to be a place where:
-the believers are of one heart and mind.
-strength and unity are found in living out the Gospel.
-staff and students PRACTICE the faith by showing respect, appreciation and concern for
one another.
-staff and students grow in knowledge and appreciation of other faiths and cultures.
-peace and justice issues are infused daily throughout the curriculum.

Sacred Heart School will strive for excellence in education by helping each child to develop
his/her God-given gifts to their fullest potential.
