My kids have been going to step by step for about a month now. I really don't have any complaints other than the place is kind of small and crowded in the older kids' rooms. The baby teachers are awesome and can tell genuinely love my baby and are good about telling me things. My 3 year old comes home with activities from what he did everyday and see that they do lessons every day.

Was completely unhappy with the professionalism, organization and the lack of involvement of the staff. Looking at the reviews, there were bad reviews but not too bad, so I decided to tour the facility as we were moving to Des Moines and I was looking for a daycare to relocate my baby to. Well, when I toured the facility I was unsure myself because I didn't know how I felt about the daycare being in an apartment complex and the place seemed pretty crowded and it's not like the staff was very welcoming. The assistant director, I believe she was, never had a smile on her face if that tells you anything. After speaking with my boyfriend, we decided to give the place a shot. I'm a little more picky, so if he ok'd it I said ok, it's not that bad but I knew it would be temporary. Well, the first week I dropped my baby off with about a half pack of wipes along with diapers and clothes. I know how many wipes my baby uses and the daycare themselves even said my son wasn't using that many diapers. Well, why after 48 hours my son is out of wipes!!! His teacher said it was because they used wipes to wipe his nose... I smell bullshit, but the director replaced my wipes so I let it go. Well, another time I went to pick my son up and went to his box at the end of the day and saw I had a bill. What was the bill for? The director couldn't even tell me herself because it showed I was all paid up and THE OWNER DOES BILLING! I thought this lady was the owner the whole time, but no. So, why is the owner NEVER THERE?? Then, let's go to strike 3 when my son had a blowout.. I picked him up, we got home and as I get my son out the car I'm like, this is not what he had on when I dropped him off this morning. I guess he had a blowout, but why did the teachers not tell me NOR return his clothing to me? We had to ask for it THE NEXT DAY! Those three incidents were enough for me. Like I said, I knew this would be temporary. I had an iffy feeling from the beginning. Whenever I picked my baby up, I never saw the teachers engaging with the kids. When I dropped him off, never saw the teachers engaging with the kids. I know you want the kids to have free play, but I never saw them doing anything at all with the children. I'm so glad I got my son out of that establishment and I'm more than happy where he is now. The only good thing I can say about this place is they kept my son safe, so that's a plus and the only reason they're getting a 2 star rating.
