Nicely laid store with free parking under the building. The vegetable and fresh produce section is better than average. There is a Starbucks at this location but I have never encountered anyone behind the counter who would great you or smile when you place an order.

The first thing I noticed was the bad odor of fish when I walked in the door the item I went in full they had plenty in in-stock. I did not shop aeound store because it smelled so bad. The cashier was very pleasant and efficient.

The reliability of the self-checkout machines have improved quite a bit. Still, I tend to avoid the deli counter, as it’s a long wait and none of the staff seem too thrilled to be there. Also, if you’re a morning shopper, and it’s part of your routine, don’t count on the butcher case being open consistently. Some days it’s open at 8, some days 9, some days, who knows... Lastly, while I appreciate the resurfacing of the parking lot, why were both cart returns relocated to the same aisle? When the lot is full, it’s nearly impossible to return the cart, which is why so many are left haphazardly on the grass or in empty parking spaces. Why.

It had a variety of item known and unknown..the late night staff was very helpful.

This is one of the better Safeway's in DC. There's a very large selection, the produce is of higher quality and always stocked. At times the lines can get line but it's understandable. This is in the running for my favorite Safeway in the district.
