One of the employees at customer service went way out of his way to help me when I lost my apartment key while having a drink and dinner at their brew pub. He went and found my key and kept it for me until I got back to the Safeway, enabling me to get into my apartment that night. Great customer service

We celebrated our 30th (pearl) anniversary at the Blue Pearl Taproom inside Safeway.  Fabulous bartender. Great hard cider. Exceptional Blue Pearl pizza. If we weren't from Chicago,  I'd come back often.

I just spent an hour and 45 minutes trying to return bottle's and can's. I finally gave up when after all attempts to get someone to fix the counting machine failed. This isn't the first time that this has happened at this Safeway! DO NOT try to return can's and bottle's to this Safeway!!! Other than returns this, this store is very expensive and extremely limited selection of merchandise.  They do have a little bit of everything if you don't mind only having one or two brands to choose from.  If you live close by this might be the grocery store for you, but if you can drive another 10 blocks then it would more than pay for itself to go to one of the other chains.
On the plus side for Safeway, it's clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, it has all of the amenities that you would expect from a Safeway.  Be sure to take your "Club Card", it will save you some $$$.

Great store with super helpful staff and has a Blue pearl Tape room for having a beer and watching a game. Check out service is fast , along with super friendly Starbucks & Service Deli workers.  Huge selection of products and located in the heart of The Pearl District.

I was in a week ago to buy some coffee and creamer before I headed off to a full day of work. I get to self check out and realize I brought my debit card with me that has a malfunctioning chip. I try to SWIPE my card and it wouldn't accept it. I kindly ask the self check out lady if she could somehow let me swipe my card or manually enter my card number so I could complete my purchase. (Brunette, younger, skinny, horrid attitude) She takes my items from the bagging area into her arms and walks away AS IF IM TRYING TO STEAL! COMING UP TO HER TO ASK IF SHE COULD HELP ME. She literally swiped the items and walked away. Disgusting!!! I was so embarrassed and was made to feel like an absolute criminal! Then, I go BACK to grab more coffee and creamer and decide to just go through a check out line. There was a woman in front of me who said I could go in front of her since I had two items. The SECOND RUDE CASHIER said "oh no honey, you stay here. She can use self check out" what the bloody hell is wrong with you guys.
