This Safeway is a joke. I've been going here as long as I can remember..yea lets say CHILDHOOD...im in my early 20's now! and swear it never used to be this bad. My problem with this Safeway is that half the lanes in the place say "15 items or less" and that pretty much sums up the majority of the open lanes! What is it Safeway?..you don't want MONEY?! One time I tried finding a lane that didn't say "15 items or less"..but it was a hassle! I went over to the "15 item or less" register that had NO ONE there and the cashier told me to look up at the sign suggesting I find a different open lane. I looked down the aisles and honestly couldn't find one open. She had to ring me up! Either way, she had nothing to do because the place was so empty at the time. I found the service to be LAZY. I should never have to struggle to find a cash register open!! This lane issue attributes to the long lines that go all the way down the aisles! It is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! PEOPLE ARE OUT OF JOBS, SAFEWAY! HIRE PEOPLE FOR THE LANES! The other day I was in the area and simply wanted to pick up a quick item and I dealt with their garbage again! I was ready to drop everything and head over to Wegmans, but a friend of mine insisted we just wait since we were there already. SO LASTLY..to Safeway of Greenbelt: I'll be avoiding you from now on! I'd rather give my money to the grocery store that works to keep me as a customer and makes shopping pleasant! Improve please!

I have visited this Safeway a few times after work to pick up weekly groceries. I have been disappointed each time. The check out is extremely understaffed.  Shoppers have to brave lines that back up halfway down the main isles. It is a serious problem for a large grocery store having only 4 lanes open, 2 of which are express only. 
The last time I went the lines were so long that after shopping for 20 minutes I simply left my cart near the exit as I did not want to wait another 20 minutes or more to purchase my items.

Compared to other grocery stores in the area, I thought this one was pretty clean & nice.
