This place is awesome.  Great vibe.  Excellent atmosphere. Low ceilings, compact and very intimate.  Food and service are both very good.  Sushi very fresh.  It is BYOB and there is a liquor store nearby (6 minutes walking). All staff are Japanese - there is no question about authenticity here.  Prices very reasonable for the quality.  I’ll come back again and again.

Frustrating and very unsatisfying experience here tonight. The waitress was extremely pushy and rude. I asked for a soda and she immediately left without asking my girlfriend if she wanted anything. Once she returned to take the dinner order, she acted as if we were a huge inconvenience to her. She was telling us how busy they were and to order sushi now because it would take a long time. She literally tried to close my menu as I was still looking at it. Also, it was evident that she was very frustrated and annoyed when we asked any basic questions about the food. 
In addition, a table of 7 people (bigger check) was sat next to us and she took her time with them. She was very welcoming and patiently explained menu items, as well as answering any questions they asked. I can only assume this is because of the amount of money potentially being spent, since they were a table of 7, while we were only a table of two. The food was good but the service was inexcusable. Servers like that reflect on the restaurant as a whole and can really deter people from wanting to eat there.

Expect your sushi to be served 60 to 90 minutes after placing your order. This is in addition to ~ 30 minutes of wait time just to be seated. By then we had lost our appetite to eat. This was not the first time we had to wait this long. There are other sushi places to go to, just as good, without the excessive wait time.

Revised star after my third visit.
we got seated 8:35PM and placed order around 8:45PM. Our food came out around 10:20PM. Waited our food for 1hr and 30min but no service to make up. we should've left restaurant after waited an hour. Thank you for ruining my girl friend birthday dinner. 
i would not come back.

Authentic Japanese sushi house. Sushi rice is on point. Amount of rice is perfect. Fish quality is also excellent. However food takes pretty long time. If you plan to doing BYOB, u can wait for real good food tho.

Best sushi restaurant in the area. You'll be hard pressed to find any place better and more authentic. No wacky rolls are sold here so keep your cream cheese to yourself.
