Mission

The Saint John Paul II National Shrine is a place of pilgrimage and the veneration of Saint John Paul II, and above all, the worship of God. The Shrine and its programs respond to John Paul II’s call for a New Evangelization by communicating the inherent relationship of religion and culture to all interested parties through its liturgy and prayer, education and Christian formation, exhibits and conferences.

This Shrine is an amazing tribute and way to pay homage to Saint John Paul II! The sanctuary is gorgeous with all of the mosaics. Each mosaic depict one of the great stories in the Bible, from the Nativity to the enslavement of the Jewish people in Egypt. Overall, my experience at the shrine surpasses 5 stars.

The chapel is impressive, with its wall-to-wall mosaics in a contemporary style. The exhibit about the life of JPII was well made and interesting.

Amazing shrine and display of St John Paul II life. Right down the street from the Basilica, would recommend to any Catholic.

The Saint John Paul II shrine is a beautiful and very versatile place. There are amazing lawns, beautiful chapels, informative exhibits, and much more! Most importantly a very reverant place to worship the Lord.
