Story

This KOA is midway between St. Louis, Denver, the Black Hills and Texas. You'll have easy access to I-70 as well as I-135 to Wichita. Located in a shady meadow northwest of Salina, you can relax in a lawn chair while fishing in the private pond. Swim in the pool, play horseshoes, watch the kids in a paddleboat or rent a bike. All sites are pull thru with free Wi-Fi and cable available on most. At Salina, spend more than one day to see the area's historic sites. Visit Abilene, about 25 miles east, known as the boyhood home of President Dwight Eisenhower. Check out the museum chronicling Ike's achievements at the Eisenhower Center. Visit Lindsborg, Kansas' Little Sweden, south of the campground. Stop at Rolling Hills Zoo, 6 miles west on I-70. In summer, stop by the kitchen for all-you-can-eat pancakes or Hunt Brothers Pizza.

Lovely campground. Although it is close to Interstate it has good blockage of site and sound. Campground is very clean. Employees friendly & helpful. Large camp spaces and fun playground for kids. Stayed there 3 times & will stay in the future.

This older and well established KOA has been kept up excellently and is very convenient to I-70. It is big rig friendly but can be "tight" in a few places. It has excellent shade with many cottonwood trees, and the trees are kept trim to where they will not hit your rig. Roads are sand/gravel and pads are gravel. My site was perfectly level front to back and side to side. Wifi actually worked at an RV park for once! (Slow but it worked.) Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They greeted us, led us to our site, and helped guide us in. Found it to be fairly quite for being right next to the interstate. Could here some road noise outside but none inside my RV. The cons include the sites are very close to each other with your neighbors sewer hose next to your picnic table; a few turns are tight for big rigs; and there is a big gap at the bottom of the fence at the dog park that will let little dogs run right out. All and all a very nice KOA. I will definitely stay here again if I am in the area. We camped at Salina KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park. Good power and water pressure. Didn’t use WiFi but they do have it throughout the park. Stayed here in late December and it was hopping with late snow birds. Friendly staff. Price a bit stiff for winter time and no discounts such as military.

We were here in 2014 -- on July 4. We were able to see fireworks for several different towns...because of the flat location. We were given sparklers and fireworks upon arriving. Decent overnite stop on the way west or east. Only reason for not getting 5 stars is the WIND. Dang, the wind was blowing so hard. We ended up cooking inside the RV vs outside on the grill to avoid dirt/dust in the food. Could have been the time of year or day, but windy. Would use again.

It is nice KOA and easy to get to. They have pull thru sites that will accommodate a 39 foot coach with a toad without unhooking your vehicle. On off season it is only 40 dollars and some change for full hookup. They have 30 and 50 amp sites. We stayed overnight and it was peaceful. You can hear highway noise but I do not think it was that bad.
