You should bookmark this place if you plan on heading to the DeYoung Museum and don't want to eat in the museum cafeteria again. It's a reasonable walking distance and they serve solid Italian food.  We had party of three and ordered the gnocchi, spaghetti with pork jowl, and lasagna. For dessert, we had dark chocolate and cappuccino gelato and a pineapple sorbet.  They have great service, and the ambience is very comfortable. Their prices are quite reasonable for their quality. I've come here more than once, and I will continue coming here. This time I bought two friends, who were extremely happy with their choices.

Osteria Bella is adjacent to Bella Trattoria. I'm not sure of the distinction between the two, but both dining rooms share a menu that serves excellent food. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable.  I love this place. I can't wait to share it with another friend. March 2024: I have eaten here a number of times. The food, staff and atmosphere never disappoint.

The free bread with tomatoes and olive oil were pretty good. My gnocchi verde was tasty, but too soft for my liking; just my personal preference.Food: 5/5

I made the reservation for our wedding anniversary dinner and wasn't too sure what to expect. The service was exceptional and the food was to die for. Everything tasted freshly made. And by far my favorite was the Panna Cotta, not too sweet with just the right touch or tart. Loved it so much, i totally forgot to take a picture of the desserts.  I would definitely return and recommend 11/10

I have been living in the neighborhood for 3 years but only went  to Osteria bella/Bella trattoria for the first time last night. I am Italian and I have been disappointed by Italian restaurants in SF so many times that I was avoiding them. However, my Neapolitan mom came to visit, and since she was home sick, I thought about giving a try to Osteria bella: what a genius idea! Everything was absolutely delicious and the all staff was so kind! My mom had the artichokes: very tasty! I had the “maccurun ca salsiccia” macaroni with meat sausage: a delight! My toddler loved it too and ate half of my plate! My husband had the “gnocchi al ragu” and was absolutely happy about it. All the dishes were plenty/very generous with portions. The panna cotta and the tiramisu were the best I ever had! Cocktails, antipasti, and bread were so good too! I will definitely go back. My plan is to try everything on the menu! Gianluca was incredibly adorable from A to Z. He took great care of my mom and was speaking Neapolitan to her. She was so happy about the food and the atmosphere! Everybody was so friendly and making everything easy for my old mom and my baby! Graz’ assaï Osteria bella! Best restaurant in town ever!

Food is good. I would recommend the minestrone soup, warm spinach salad, pasta dishes. Dessert, tiramisu. Panna Cotta was ok but not very creamy and lacked flavor. You can have all the bread you want no charge. I was not aware this place is a gastropub.  There is a pool table. I would prefer the dining room. Also, we had to use QR code in order to see menu. This is not good for seniors. Give me a paper menu! Also, the waitstaff is a lot friendlier when it's time to pay the tab, not so much beforehand. I would say go and give this place a try.

Four of us just had  amazing Italian meals at Osteria Bella.  Our server, David, was so polite and efficient. AND, the food....... absolutely delicious!  My spinach gnocchi with mushrooms was so good - best, lightest gnocchi ever!  The other dishes were equally delicious.  The bread was served with a wonderful sun-dried tomato oil - nice change from just olive oil or butter.  The four of us shared a large caesar salad.  We are only in town for two more days, but I'm sure that we will squeeze at least one more meal at this delightful restaurant into our schedule.  Yes, it was THAT good!

My second time visiting. Food is excellent and the drinks were especially good. I got the special gimlet, which was super yummy. Service was friendly and efficient.Food: 5/5
