My first visit to Sammies was great. I ordered the Gyro Value Meal Every Day Special. It was superb!

The sandwich alone was worth the price. I don't know if this is how they serve the sandwich at all their locations or just North Chicago, but there was so much meat, tomato, and onion that I could not fold the pita around it. It was like a mini-gyro-plate dinner. It was GREAT!

My first thought was the tzatziki sauce could possibly have used a little more spice, but it worked! I enjoyed every bite.

I started with the fries. I like to eat fries first at most places because they tend to lose their crispness as they cool off. Not these. They were right out of the fryer. They were tasty, crunchy crisp down to the last one. I'm sure it may have been luck that I got them that "fresh." But they were the best fries I've had in a LONG time. 

The staff was pleasant and friendly. The store was clean. I'll be back.

Place is great! I have ordered the Italian beef and has been my favorite. Proximity to my work makes it a convenient place to eat: great food, fast and friendly customer service and great prices.
