Amazing Place, great instruction, the place has been opened since March 2015 at this new location and they are getting new students every day due to the quality of the instruction. Perfect combination with workout, technique and Fun!

Check out Renato at Sampa BJJ in Walnut. He's very different from many other instructors I've spoken with, and seems more interested in helping his students excel versus just creating competitors. Although I haven't trained with him, I can say that I've known him for years and he is a very respectful and nice person, and lacks the ego that other instructors seem to have. I'd definitely say his classes are worth checking out if you're looking for someone to train BJJ with who is both knowledgeable and friendly.

After years of being a grossly overweight armchair warrior, the decision to change my lifestyle was greatly influenced by my doctor. Went to 24 hour fitness but couldn't find the fun in throwing around weights and running in place for hours at a time. I was always a fight fan so decided to give Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a try. Living in Diamond Bar, I visited the 2 BJJ schools closest to me. One school didn't fit my schedule and the other just gave me a bad vibe. Fortunately, fate guided me to SAMPA BJJ's new academy in Walnut, CA. Doing a little research I found that SAMPA BJJ in Glendora has very high praise from their students and their community. Upon visiting the Walnut academy, Professor Renato quickly greeted me with a smile and handshake (like he does all his students and visitors), explained the different promotions, and invited me to just watch a class with no pressure to sign up. A week later I took my first class and haven't looked back. Professor Renato exudes motivation and encouragement in his teachings. I'm also looking forward to training under Professor Nathan and all the supporting coaches of SAMPA. I can't wait for the Walnut classes to grow in size and tradition.
