Large park with panoramic views of the bay area from the ocean to the bay. It gets very windy up here, so choose to come on a day when winds are calm. There's a nice loop trail on the northern side of the park and there are plenty of wildflowers here in the spring. Not brilliant fields of color, but individual flowers scattered about. I saw a black-footed weasel here a few years ago while doing trail maintenance on the southern side of the park! I'd never seen one n the wild before. Also - there are raccoons who do not shy away from people. They are sometimes by the paved part of the path going about their business or keeping watch over you. I never felt like I was in any harm. They're just curious to watch.

Beautiful views, clean air, and an excellent picnic area where you can have beer and a barbecue.

Good spot for some trail running. Nothing too intense, but definitely enough to keep your heart rate up. Not many trees unless you do the Eucalyptus Loop. I ran for an hour and ran into one hiker and a couple on a "hiking date." This factor alone will keep me coming back for my daily run. I just moved to SF from Santa Cruz and I'm really missing the thick redwood forests around the city. I haven't been able to find something quite so rugged, yet big enough to keep the density of people at a minimum. If you're looking for a place to hike with lots of trees and shade, this isn't the place for you. If you don't mind the sun, this is a great place to run with enough overlapping loops to make it a long distance with little repeat terrain. The view is also nice; when you're at the top you can see almost the entire peninsula, from bay to ocean. Nice.

Great trails of several difficulty levels and lengths and a spectacular 180 degree+ view on a clear day.

Excellent trail system. Very well marked and maintained. Bathroom facilities are limited in the park. Summit trail and eucalyptus trails are lovely!
