Not a helpful police department. I would recommend consulting with or having an attorney present whenever you come into contact with any of the officers form the Santa Fe Police Department.

The Santa Fe police have a pattern of blaming victims who complain about those who break the law . When Wells Fargo employees at the Devargas branch lied to police about me in May, the police rushed to protect the liars at the bank, but failed to investigate the film of the incident which would have shown what spiteful liars work at Well Fargo. September news shows that thousands of predatory liars work at Wells Fargo. Now, months later, I am in mediation with Wells Fargo because they force unjust arbitration on customers they have harmed. Months later, It happened again! People breaking the law accused me of wrongdoing for simply complaining, and rather than making things right, the police "need to talk to" me. I prefer to have our interactions in writing for reference and protection. Associa allows careless construction companies to endanger us with their falling porta potties which they park less than a foot from the fire hydrant! Of course they don't like my complaining...but, my e-mails do not endanger them in any way, while their activities in my neighborhood continue to endanger us. The police seem to have taken the side of the richer, more powerful entity, as usual, at the expense of justice, safety, fire regulations, and the law. I called the Fire Dept., and at least they showed some concern for the law and my safety when others have failed. Today, December 9, 2016, three police came to my door, and one of them threatened to arrest me for complaining about the scofflaw construction workers. I would have called the police myself, but, alas, I know them too well to ever trust them. The construction workers break the law and laugh at me when I complain! They have no respect for the law or the neighborhoods in which they work. Just read an article in ABQ Free Press that shed a little light on the problems. Mayor Berry is good buddies with the contractors! So much for accountability, justice, equal protection, and intelligent policing. Santa Fe is not a nice place to live!

This department is horrendous. It's remarkable not much more, newsworthy, has happened to highlight under the national media scrutiny of unfair and biased police practices.

Watch out for the Officers of The Santa Fe Police Department. They cannot be trusted or interacted with under any circumstances.

WOW....no wonder protection and service is so disheartening to residents! How can Santa Fe recruit strong candidates with such poor pay and benefits??? These officers place their lives on the line every day; increased risk with a shortage in force. Wake up, Santa Fe! I quote: "How far you are willing to 'go' for someone else is directly proportionate to the value you place on that person." Go the extra mile for those who protect and serve this fine community! Then you can provide the best.
