Went there. Didn't have the right kind of residence documents. Asked the guy at the front desk. He gave me a list. Went over to the side to read it. Made some calls. By the time I was done there was a short line. Since I had another question, went to the back of the line and waited. Once it was my turn again, I asked what kind of documents could I bring if didn't have any of the ones from the list. The guy wasn't very specific so I had to ask several times the same question until I got the answer. When I got to the front desk the second time the security guy came over. It felt like he was targeting me or something. Then he said that I should have waited in line. I said I did. He said it again and then the front desk guy had to tell him that I waited. I understand that he was security for a reason, probably couldn't get a better job. However, no need for being rude and targeting people.

This place keeps me wondering what were their standards for hiring people: Speaking like an ***hole on the street? or not being able to say anything in a complete sentence? I came in today to renew my sticker and notice that this place's announcement is on the more quiet side, unless you always keep an eye on the screen it's hard to keep up with the number. As I saw my number on the screen I proceeded to booth 17, and saw 2 people in front of the booth. So I waited there in silent, and there the black lady with straight mid-length hair yelled at me: "Step back! I am with them now." I was like what the hell are you talking about; I was standing 5 feet away from the couple in the front, not making any sound, and she acted like I was holding a gun pointing at her. Lady you are working at DMV not LAPD, and I came for a freaking stickers so why are you treating me like I am dealing drugs or something. But still I kept silent and patiently waiting for her. Then the guy in the next booth (booth 18) started to joke about how she told me to "Step back". They were all laughing and joke around like i was not existent or they might have thought I did not understand because I am Asian. Now that's not just unprofessional but also disrespectful. Could not believe these kinds of people are working in a government facility.

We had an appointment and all the necessary paperwork. Wait times were minimal (10 minutes here and there) and everyone was cheerful, friendly, intelligent, and helpful! In the course of an hour and a half, our daughter got her Learner's Permit and we got new Disabled plates for our minivan. They even lent me a screwdriver and pliers to switch the plates!

Waited an hour for my number, was told my proof of residency would work for my ID. Waited longer for my number to be called, approached with a smile and was greeted with a frustrated woman who shot down all attempts at using that second proof of residency that the woman at the first counter said would be fine. I asked her to consider the alternative but she seemed very convinced that her way was the only way. System for registration also went down after I got my number for it, so I wasn't able to do that either. Got absolutely nothing out of my two hours there.
