If you are looking for fun in the sun. Sand between your toes, rides and entertainment for the kids. So many different souvenirs you can buy. Pictures to take. This is the cleaniest beach i have ever been on. The county rakes the sand. White sands to me anyways. I love it their. On a pier that goes into the ocean pretty far. This place is amazing. You have to put this place on your list.

This place is so lively, fun and always so exciting to visit. The crowd can be pretty busy on weekends so make sure you prepare for lots of pedestrians as you are driving.  They have lifeguards on duty and patrols as well. It's nice to enjoy by yourself or with family. You can stay on the actual beach or go on the pier for food, rides and entertainment.

My wife and I drove to Santa Monica on a Saturday morning. Beautiful day to visit the beach. Weather was cooler when the clouds covered the sun. Overall we enjoyed just walking by the shore. It wasn't crowded this time. Water was nice and cool as we waded by the shore. Great place to take the family.  It's also close to the pier of you want to experience street entertainers, the rollercoaster and face painting.

Favorite LA beach getaway with easy access from Pico Boulevard. Plenty of parking ($2 hourly or $8-10 day/weekends), restrooms, lifeguards and people watching. Great spot for families. Food and water available within walking distance, but options are limited unless you trek to Santa Monica or Venice proper, so might want to consider bringing your own.

Santa Monica is a place everyone in LA has to visit. It's got a beautiful view, a pier, plenty of eateries around. If you want to just go for a run, or shop or watch a movie or eat or go for a night out, this place has got everything. Do visit during sunset! It's the most beautiful then.
