They have a weekly farmer's market on Saturday mornings where they expand the main parking lot. During the summer, they offer some water activities. They have two playground structures - one for the older kids and one for the younger children and they have a huge field for soccer as well as a basketball court. They also have a library and two free parking lots. You could get your fun, fitness, food and literacy needs all in one spot, depending on the day. They also host some special festivals throughout the year.

Once a month there is a class on something about cooking or making dried vegetables or preserves or anything related to the kitchen/food/market.
I keep going whenever I can get a spot (very often they are sold out) for two reasons: its always good to learn new ways to work with food, and because this farmer's market is VERY good... even though a bit far from our house, its worth the driving.
And then there is the park activities... well cared and maintained park.

Great place. Large green field to play soccer, run around or do other activities. You will people doing outdoor workout, taichi, walking or jogging along the periphery. There are two basketball courts, Sandy play area for children with parents, water splash pad which is very popular among kids for summer. 

There are a few rooms, such Thelma Louise Center,  you can reserve for your private parties, gathering or other functions. Pico branch library, about three years new, is in the park and had a great all around view of park from inside the library.

Picnic benches and tables are at various places in the park. Public parking is available when you are visiting the park, along with free charging station for electric vehicle.

Park center contains park offices and a few rooms to hold various workout and educational classes. Schedules can be found at the park center office. There is beautiful mural on the outside wall of the park cent

Every Saturday, there is farmer's market in front of library from 8 am to 1 pm. 

Nearby facilities include whole foods market 365, Rite Aid, Mann family health clinic, Santa Monica college, pizza hut, 99 cents store and Starbucks. Take big blue bus 7 on Pico Blvd to get there or take a walk. ENJOY YOUR DAY.

I come to this place just to drop off my passengers for I work for Dial a Ride at SMC! But this place is nice, and they have different events in this library.

Nice park in Santa Monica. It features a public library and some event buildings. Parking is bad on Tuesday because of street sweeping.
