Very disappointing customer relations. My siblings and I presented Charlie a modest coin collection we inherited from our late parents. We requested a modest purchase price after seeking consult and gathering some independent research. Charlie's only interest was in what any previous appraisers had quoted us and why. The effort to inspect our coins and offer a price on his own knowledge and experience was clearly too much for him. We needed to honor this collection by getting multiple opinions and getting the best possible price. Charlie could not see extending any effort if we may ultimately sell to someone else. Indeed, we did sell to someone else. After his disrespectful attitude 3 minutes into the conversation, we would not have given him business regardless of what price he offered. He put forth NO EFFORT and was indeed insulting. We ended up selling our collection to another local buyer who gave us a great price and great experience.

This is a great place. My husband got my engagement ring here, and its a vintage style I have never seen anothet like it. It appraised for more than my husband paid which made us happy! I had it dipped closer to my house (not at sav mor) and it came back with a diamond missing. A local jeweler quoted me $75 and Kay said $50 for the repair. Sav more quoted me $35 and it came back dipped so it looks great. I'm really happy with them (enough to go online and write a review!) This is a great local place to buy jewelry, especially if you want a piece that is original vs a mall jeweler.

Poor customer relations based on the following facts. I went to store yesterday(11/24/14)with a good sized 14K Gold bracelet to discuss selling it. It was analyzed under a microscope by a female staff member for markings of Karat amount. Then she went to weigh it and returned stating the weight in units of Troy. When I asked how many grams it would be she declined to answer. She stated that troy is what is usually dealt with, yet she had a scale as any jewelry buyer one would expect would and one would think she would know the weight in grams or at minimum be able to convert to grams, as buying gold is a good part of jewelry businesses now days. And this is a business that advertises buying and selling. My research on websites for buyers dealt with grams much of the time and in fact one such site stated there are many measurements, but that the gram measurement is the most often used. I stated to her that without a value in grams we were literally talking apples and oranges. That there was no way for me to assess the value of my bracelet. Even after my remarks she made no attempt to find out the gram value and offered me $328 for it and I stated I would have to consider it and began to walk out as she stated that that was the offer but it could change if I waited. The implication was sell now and get your money for shall you return we may not give you that much. It all felt very unprofessional. I then sent to another business in Mankato to investigate another buyer and what he might offer. Upon looking at the bracelet and testing it for Karat value he stated he would give me $350. I asked him how much it weighed and he was very forthright (an attitude that is always a winner in my book and leads me to want to continue to do business with him for any services he has that I may need). I felt he was trying to hide nothing. I told him I wanted to think about it. Since I go to the Metro weekly, I decided to investigate online buyers and found one that actually gave an estimate with a Karat value and gram value calculator and then the offer for buying. The stated they were quite competitive, giving up to 85% of the melt value. I went back to the 2nd buyer in Mankato, because I had left something behind. The owner asked what I thought of his offer. Because he had been candid with me from the beginning, I felt I too could be candid and honest. And I let him know that a business in St. Paul, Mn. would give me $414, when he heard this he stated, "I wonder if I could match that." I was on my way to work and suggested we both think about it and that I would return after work. Tonight after work I retuned to his business and showed him the website with the calculator the price was now $415. He looked at me and said how about $415 for the bracelet. I accepted. Had I gone with Save Mor Jewelry I would have gotten a lot less by far. And I believe/felt her business tactics to be disingenuous. Not giving me information that any gold buyer should have readily available and threaten to not stick with the price if I walk away. It did feel sleazy on her part to me. I got $87 more than I would have had I taken her offer. I can not recommend a business with tactics such as these.
