I have no idea how this place got great reviews on Yelp (which is why I tried this place).  I had the steak hibachi and unfortunately I am going to say this is the worst steak hibachi I have ever had in my life.  I typically finish every single dish put in front of me and this is the only time I ordered to wrap the food and take the leftover home... the steak was way over cooked for medium rare and the chunk is just very tough to chew.  Even the vegetables used in the salad that came with the meal was not fresh.  If you think this is a great sushi place, you really need to go outside KC and try something fresh.  The service was nice though, the waitress was very friendly and our dishes came out quick.  I am giving credit to where its due.

This place is amazing and exactly what the neighborhood needs. It's priced fairly and pretty fast. So glad to have a nice sushi place here. PLEASE keep it clean and up to date and maintain a high-quality menu.

We ordered to go. The staff was incredible.  They brought us water while we waited. The hibachi shrimp was fantastic. We will definitely be returning customers!

I'm a regular at Sawa for life! The sushi never ceases to amaze the taste buds, and the presentation is perfection! Every plate is hand crafted carefully, and the wide variety of tastes will fulfill any craving you may have! They serve ramune soda, and an amazing dessert sushi. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and quick and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. I highly recommend Sawa to everyone!
