Schenley Plaza is a wonderful spot to take a break from the busy city. This green space is adjacent to the main Carnegie Library as well as restaurants and food kiosks. The parks department hosts activities in the plaza. A carousel is also located on-site. The space is well manicured and clean. Playground: There is NOT a playground here. Picnic area: This green space is a lovely location for a picnic.
Lovely greens outside Carnegie Library that is a great space for lawn games Friday afternoons in summer and picnics. A popular Oakland event venue. Pretty flowering beds feature mostly native plants that benefit pollinators. Some outdoor seating under tents. A small, charming carousel with specific hours of operation. Metered street parking available. Picnic area: Consider bringing a picnic blanket or using the outdoor seating, or seating under event tents.
The plaza is lovely. The porch here has amazing food to enjoy while sitting alongside a beautiful flower garden. Great places for kids to run around and enjoy nature. One can just sit and play some games that are installed for leisure and have a great view of the cathedral. Picnic area: Lovely area to relax on a cool summer day. Grab a blanket to lie on the grass and bathe in the sun when you can.
Great little slice of paradise in the middle of bustling Oakland. I great destination anytime the weather is great! Perfect for kids to play and picnic on the blanket. Great food options and good overall vibe. Feels clean, safe and friendly.
Everything an urban park should be. Not overwhelmingly huge, open, airy, several food options including one lovely place called The Porch. There’s also table tennis, lovely plantings, mod seating, and of course, a carousel. What’s also nice is the surrounding buildings that add to the character of the park.
This is one of my most favorite places to sketch and paint in Pittsburgh. I love getting a bubble tea and sitting under the tent while I sketch and paint the architecture in the area. You are also very close to the museums and other attractions in Oakland. Definitely consider coming here if you’ve never been here before.
This is a very nice little grass area on Pitt Campus. For the six years that I was at Pitt, I would come here many times to relax, do homework, try the food from the food stands, and visit various music festivals and events here. Whoever manages this plaza does a good job keeping it clean. There's also a small carousel and merry-go-round for kids. My church has also come here to host bible studies. Lastly, sometimes they have free fitness sessions here like Yoga and Meditation.
Oct 23rd was The Buddy walk for people Born with Down Syndrome. Gathered together for a few hrs. With many teams that all have gathered 213,000 dollars for the need to assist many of people and Family's in support of needs
Love this place, I work at Pitt so I like to walk over during breaks. Awesome trails and hiking are just the beginning, they have EVERYTHING! The city of Pittsburgh has plenty of parks, this is top 3.
Its a green and open center near CMU museum with lots of food places gathered together. Its great to spend some time out in the lawn or enjoy a sunny day in the shades savoring the dishes from one of the restaurants with a dine-out.You could even go out walking hand-in-hand with your special one or look up at the sky and get an 'awe' moment with the clear blue sky. The Carnegie Mellon theater is nearby, plus walking distance to the bus-stop if you wanna catch a ride to the airport.
