Tonight was our first time having dinner here. We had today special, 2 lb crab legs. Salad, relish plates and bake potato 🥔 Terry was our server. The service and food ***** 5 stars. Highly recommend.

Loved it. Our server has a dry sense of humor. She takes a friendly shot here and there. Its all in fun. She comes back and checks on you plenty to make sure everything is going well. The food is good cooked just right. My buddy and I had seafood platters and split an order of crab legs. It was a good time and worth the drive from my house. The crowd is laid back and there to eat drink and relax. My kind of crowd.

I personally think I've got an interesting story about this establishment: I had drove past the place for a good long time and never had the thought to stop in until I had moved nearby and was in search for a place to get a drink, close to home, after work. My first experience of the place was as a customer at the bar after kitchen hours. The atmosphere was very relaxed, friendly, and had an almost "Cheers" family of friends and regulars. After spending time in the bar area I had one day decided to try the food and, to be blunt, not only was I impressed but I started making it a habit to go there once a week to try each item on the menu. I did this from 2010 and continue to this day. There wasn't a single thing on the menu I had disliked and I also had my personal favorites which were the broiled scallops, lake perch, ribs, prime rib, four piece chicken dinner, and the crab legs. Mind you, I don't care for All You Can Eat sort of dinners so I had never truly indulged; I'm more of a quality over quantity type of person. It doesn't quite end there... How many places do you have servers who have decades on their belts, are loyal to their job, joke with you openly, and treat you like they've known you as part of the family? I admired that so much that I dropped an application in there in 2013 and now work as a server with them. Now my friends and family are hooked on the place and I still come to eat and drink on my days off. :p One last note, some people find the prices a bit steep, though I disagree. With every dinner you receive the traditional cottage cheese, beets, and cole slaw, a loaf of bread with honey butter, soup or salad, and your entree is of a healthy portion; another reason I do not do the AYCE. So there you have it. That's my story about the Schererville Lounge. :)

Crab legs were great, service great, people friendly, and cold beer. I was happy!!!
