Reviews

I have some basic expectations when I go out to eat.  Timely ordering, hot food and beverage refills.  Tonight was a disappointment on two of three of the very basic restaurant deliverables.  My fish was warm at best with a rubber like feeling.  You could tell it was fried and then sat for some time under a lamp.  At $15.95 per plate the food should be hot and fresh.  Then my soda glass was empty for at least 10 minutes.  I finally had to flag down the server and ask for my refill.  Schwefel's was once a staple for a Friday fish fry.  So much, that 11 years ago we had our wedding rehearsal dinner here.  It has been on a steady decline since.  It pains me to say, that I would recommend avoiding Schwefel's for a Friday fish fry.

Everything from the friendly atmosphere and workers  (Sam was great) to the food couldn't have been any better.  So much to choose from on the menu. I will definitely be back.

This restaurant was known for their fish and their chicken and we were there for banquet the chicken was exceptional the stuffing dumplings, gravy,  red cabbage,  sham torte and the German chocolate delicious. Unfortunately the sauerbraten was not it was dry and to vinegar a tasting.  The service was slow and on organized it seemed like the waitresses involved or not communicating to each other as to what tables they were to wait on. 
Normally when I've been to this restaurant the Waitresses that helped that night are exceptional except for that night due in part to non communication with all those who work that banquet.

Was really busy.  Service was OK, but I'd say should have been better.  Food was okay also, but not great.  Prices were good.
