My sis-in-law said she knew a great Supper Club on Lake Como and I was wondering if we were dressed for such an occasion. Well now I know what a Wisconsin Super Club is all about. Super friendly staff providing excellent service and serving fantastic dishes. Great menu, gorgeous lake front views and lots of friendly, happy patrons. This place has a very long and unique history that tops off it's eclectic ambiance. We'll be back next time we come to visit family.

Classic Wisconsin supper club. Live piano on Fridays. The food is great, assuming you're expecting a traditional Wisconsin supper club. Can be long waits on the weekend. Service is competent. I haven't been in the summer, but I hear the view of Lake Como is amazing.

Had dinner at Mars Restaurant. It’s located off SR-50 on Lake Como about 5 miles west of the town of Lake Geneva. While not strictly a supper club, it has many of the charms of the Wisconsin supper clubs. I was part of group of 12 without a reservation. We got there a bit early (5 pm) and the staff were able to pull some tables together to seat our party. I’m glad we got there when we did as it became crowded around 7 pm.

The Mars restaurant is known for its ribs, we were there on a Wednesday which is one of two days that the ribs are specially priced, so guess what we had? Ribs, of course!  Ribs can be cooked many different ways. Mars does theirs by cooking the slabs without any sauce and bringing them to the table with barbeque sauce on the side. I prefer to have my ribs cooked with sauce on them so that sauce gets caramelized in the process. Regardless, the ribs were tasty. The dinner comes with a choice of soup or salad and a side. Another person in our party had a fish sandwich; the two pieces of fish that were included were quite large.

One waitress handled our table along with other tables.  She was quite good, took our orders in a timely manner and checked in with us frequently. I was quite happy with the service she provided.

The ambiance here is unlike any other in the county. The fish fry was well worth the wait. Next time I will be sure to call ahead to get a table.
