Fantastic location and Tony was extremely helpful! Would have rated 5 stars but did have a terrible experience with a seasonal camper named Chris and her husband who thinks they own the place. Avoid site 9a as they actually complained because we were barbecuing...at a campground...had to move my grill into the parking lot and burned my hand. They claimed the smoke was billowing into their state of the art trailer and their child was going to have an asthma attack...my 26 year old RV that had the grill Just a couple of feet away it did not fill up with smoke and my window was open...lnowing his story was bull I moved it anyway to avoid confrontation and not once did the husband offer to help as he watched me try to carry a hot burning grill which caused a burn on my hand...they ruined my dinner and my vacation and I was left with a bad taste in my mouth, not the delicious barbecued chicken which was the plan...would go back but only if not near them. We tried to be kind and courteous campers our whole stay. They should not be allowed to treat paying customers this way and I'm willing to bet I'm not the first person who's had a bad experience with them.

I had hoped to go to this campground for the Newport Folk Festival and followed all the directions to complete the online reservation form. I did fill in the form and waited to hear back about a site. I finally was able to talk to a real person, Tony Tighe, the campground manager. He informed me that they did not have my application,(I sent it in twice) and that they have "Loyalty to the campers that come back every year for the festival" I expressed that I understand Loyalty but if my application was there first wouldn't that be discrimination? He said they only have a few sites available and that the same people come back every year. I wonder if he calls them to remind them to send in an application?? Maybe they just tell him, "See you next year!" So much for public camping.

Awesome! Across the street from 2nd beach. Close to all that Newport has to offer.
