Daisy was almost 4 when I adopted her from Second Chance Animal Rescue four months ago.  They vetted me properly which to me shows they care so much in making the right choice for their animals and human parent.  Some dogs/cats have more issues than others and Grace was very honest and helpful with Daisy being a puppy mill mama.  She was very thorough with pre-vet adoption exams and is still is available to ask advice from.  They are caring and professional.

I found the cute puppy on their web site. So filled out the application and paid 26 dollars, the mandatory fee and all that. Within couple of hours, they informed me that the dog is adopted. But she is still on the web and looks like still possible for adaption. It is not loyal at all to fish people like that and make them pay the fee. Wanted to give no star but give one just to write this review.

I enjoy seeing Non Profit Rescue that try very hard in finding homes 4 these PRECIOUS SOULS. I seen their ad in Nickel's Worth in Rathdrum Idaho

I adopted my lil Leo here in February...luv him n all the staff n volunteers esp Grace...he's my lil Angel  Update...sadly my lil Leo ~gone too early~ 11/5/19~miss him so much~he is forever in my heart~

Very expensive. We have rescued two dogs had them for 10 and 9 years respectively. The dogs were mistreated before we got them and their medical bills were extensive. We are willing to adopt a dog and take care of it however paying $500 for a dog as a rescue is outrageous. Some of them are even more than that we are willing to offer these animals and exceptional life, however I'm not paying $500 plus for a dog

I’m not sure this company isn’t just another puppy mill operating under the pretense of a rescue, which is the new norm. I filled out an application and never heard back - no acknowledgement whatsoever. If the pup I applied for even exists, I’m sure Second Chance probably holds off on a decision to collect as many donations as possible. Then what? Who knows. Hopefully this adoption agency isn’t another ASPCA, or HSUS, which both plead for money in the name of animals, then channel millions into overseas accounts.

This rescue does the best work to save cats and dogs in the Long Island area. They are a bit slower b/c they ensure their rescued animals get the best homes by doing quality home checks, thorough reference and vet checks. They are an all volunteer organization so patience is required but they are a stellar organization when it comes to saving and placing animals in homes!

Communication was extremely poor. Waited days to get a response . Was asked to apply and pay the $25 , then to be told I would not be considered because I was coming from out of state - even after talking to someone over the phone about setting up an appointment to visit.  Took my $ without proper communication. Not fair application process. I do not recommend adoption from this location.

Jean is AWESOME!! Wish we could have adopted all of the cats there!!
