Secret Tiki was just what we needed on a Saturday night! Walk down the stairs of Shannon's and you're immediately transported to a tropical cove. The DJs spinning reggae tunes, bar and tables packed with customers enjoying the vibe. We were lucky enough to get a table in the back and were able to people watch and enjoy the ambience of the bar. Drinks were strong, delicious and of a wide variety. We ordered a Rum Runner and Pink Panther and they did not disappoint! For food, the chicken wings are really chicken tenders and tasty nonetheless as well as a chicken pineapple bowl. This will be a spot to revisit for a good chill time.
It's a hidden gem! Located right below Shannon's. The ambiance was on point for a Thursday night filled with patrons, booze and good tiki music! Our bartender has wonderful selections. We had the chi chi and roadrunner both which were scrumptious
Secret Island was Tikitastic! From the moment you walk down those stairs and round the corner you feel like you are going on an adventure. We went on a Thursday right when they opened so we could take advantage of the happy hour which is from 5-6. The drinks are spot on with their own unique takes and recipes. So many different drinks to try. I especially enjoyed the Nui Nui and their signature drink Pele's Fire. Food is great as well, the Loco Moco was delicious. The atmosphere is classic Tiki with a little modern infused here and there. They have a stage for live entertainment too. If you love Tiki or just great drinks this is a must.
I love this tiki restaurant. I went last week with my husband and son to check this place out. The decor is fun. So much to look at from the lava chair, floor, thatched roof booths, tropical ambiance, thunder and lightning sounds and the secret door you have to push to get in are just some of the cool features. We got there right when they opened at 1 and booked a reservation a couple hours earlier online. We had a booth waiting for us when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and Shawn the manager came over to introduce himself, which was great. Best part were the drinks. The bartender has a generous pour. I noticed earlier reviews about weak drinks, or lack of tiki drinks, but these were some of the best I have had outside of Hawaii. And I've been to Strongwater also excellent drinks and The Bamboo Club weak drinks. The food menu is minimal, but it was fine for my family and the presentation of the food and drinks had those special touches. We will be back.
What a fantastic find - excellent service, great atmosphere, and definitely a spot I'll be heading to again! On a Friday we were strolling along Pine when we decided to go to Shannon's. As we walked up, I noticed a stairwell headed down, and stumbled on a complete gem! Walking inside the murals and decor takes you far away from Long Beach and into a little secret hideaway. The actual bar is gorgeous, and deeper into the venue there are plenty of tables and booths with a good size dance floor. Although Pine was busy, this place was alive while not overly crowded. There was a DJ and a casual but fun crowd the night we went, and often they have live music. The lighting effects are fun, and the bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. Best of all the drinks are fantastic and STRONG. The bartenders are also fast and courteous - moments after receiving my first drink and after just 1 sip, I pulled a menu towards my partner and inadvertently dropped my drink on the ground. Feeling like an idiot, I looked up and saw the bartender saw and was already making me a new one. Highly recommend!
Found this place by accident. We were heading into Shannon's and I saw some people walking down a dark unlit set of stairs and my nosy self decided to walk down there to see where these people were going. It was worth that dark eerie path followed but a ominous thunder and lighting entrance, only to pass the eye of the storm and into this underground oasis. The staff is inviting, drinks are unique and fit the theme. And best of all, live music. This place is a stark difference from Shannon's above.
It was ok. No greeting by staff upon our entrance. No explanation of how to order and pay..do we seat ourselves?? A little communication would have been appreciated! I even had to go find a menu. Thank goodness a fellow patron let me know the drill. The fried rice was greasy af! Extremely small portions for the price.extremely disappointed, our first time here was so much better! The drinks were decent-thats what the 2 stars are for. Won't be back or recommend.
The bar tenders are super friendly and look like they're having good time. The vibe is fun, I had no idea such a cool place was going to be down some stairs in a sports bar. They obviously spent a lot of time creating such a fun space. We had Ron's punch and the Zombie. The live music was also a surprise, very fun with lots of people dancing and enjoying themselves. A new most stop for LB
What a fun secret tiki place! You go down the stairs, and you immediately are greeted by a flash of thunder and lightning startled me a bit at first in a classic tiki setting. It felt like walking into a Disney ride! Their decor inside the restaurant is amazing as well. It really immerses you in the experience. I was excited immediately and really happy with our choice to visit. Their drinks are amazing, and we are picky drinkers especially when it comes to tiki drinks. So the former reviews talking about poor quality drinks, or not enough booze? They must have solved the problem. We enjoyed three drinks, because they are just so good. We enjoyed Pele’s fire, the Painkiller, and the Sea Foam. All of them were yummy, but I liked the sea foam and the painkiller the most. And they are served in classic tiki glasses that are Instagram worthy. Not to mention, their staff and bartenders know their beverages, and will help you decide what to order. And they have live music and DJ’s! It’s a great place that we really enjoyed visiting.
Such a fun, hidden place! Love the entrance and once inside, all the tiki decor is great. You immediately forget that you are in the city. Food and drinks were also top notch. Can't go wrong with a Painkiller. Also love that they have live music down there. The band the night I had gone brought such a great vibe! Even though they were busy, food and drinks came out promptly. Definitely a cool place to come and chill. Looking forward to coming back and trying the rest of the drinks & food.
