Visited this place over the weekend and it is a solid good place. The environment was good, the people were fun and courteous, and the food was good. The Good: They are not shy with the pour on the drinks. Drinks were very strong in alcohol content. I would even go as far as saying if you are light drinker to ask for a side of juice to add to your drink. The food has interesting takes and it was worth trying something new. The not so good: Overall the food was good, however, there was inconsistency in the taste for some of it. For example, the macaroni salad I had could have less of the garlic spice that is added. It gave it almost like a Wasabi kick when eating it. I ate it but I can see someone not going for it if that is the recipe. Recommendation: Try the Pork Belly Plate. I thought it was great!
Everything about this place was cool. Arrived on a Saturday night. The burger we had was soft and just a good burger. The drinks were really good too. Wish i remembered our waiters name, but he was the best! He has a tattoo on his neck with red words. Overall a great experience
Mellow lunch location and probably a fantastic hangout for evenings with friends! Great drinks, loved the mac salad with Sriracha and the fried chicken plate should send other Hawaiian chain joints back to school! Parking is mostly street unless you get lucky, so ride-sharing is probably the play on a busy night!
The Service: Our server, Lindsay, was amazing! She is friendly, efficient and very attentive. She was constantly checking on our table and made sure everything was okay. Great customer service! The Food: Katubi - I have tried spam musubi many times but this is my first time trying a "deep fried" version. It is lightly tempura battered. The rice is still very soft. The spicy mayo makes it taste even better. Love this creation! Laka Wings - They have 3 different flavors. This one is a combination of sweet & savory. I can taste the citrus, honey, garlic & many more spices. The wings are very tender. The lemon garlic aioli sauce is so good! Thai Crunch Salad - I ordered this salad because it is not the typical leafy kind of salad. Very crunchy, great texture! The salad dressing is very refreshing. I really enjoy their Thai flavor. Steak Plate - The steak is prepared beautifully in medium rare, so tender. It comes with 2 sides. You can choose from vegetables, rice, fries, mac salad or Thai crunch salad. Can't end the dinner without dessert, right? I ordered their Thai Tea Creme Brulee. OMG! I wish I could order another one.... if my belly could fit more food! The Parking: Private parking lot and street parking free. Really enjoy dining at this restaurant! Great atmosphere & decoration. Large bar inside the restaurant with music. I will definitely come back again in summertime, sipping cocktails in their huge outdoor patio area.
I've been coming to this spot since it's opening, and before that Liquid Lounge and to see how far it has progressed is just amazing! The look of the bar is very cool, in the sense that it maintains a divey feel with an awesome tiki ambiance! Several artists within the tiki community have contributed to the interior of the location. The drinks are well made, as juices and syrups are prepared in-house. Don't see a drink on the menu. The beverage craftsman can accommodate. The food items on the menu are really delicious!!! You should have drinks and lunch or dinner! I recommend the oysters, but beware the spicy sauce, as a little goes a long way! If you like really incredibly spicy, you'll love it!!! This spot does have bands and DJs, so check the schedule! Also, check the calendar for special events, as it can get crowded during these events. This is one of those spots you should definitely look into if you find yourself in the area! Tiki enthusiasts, give this spot a go! Perhaps make reservations if you anticipate a crowd, but they do accommodate walk-ins.
We had a great time at the Bamboo club. We attended a RUM tasting event there recently and we sat n the outside area and had a great time. They are dog friendly out there so make sure that you bring your furry friend. We really enjoyed the food and custom drinks that were made. The interior decor is super cool and we will definitely be back to have more fun. See you there!
We LOVED this place. We were staying nearby for the night and wanted to go out. We found this place online and decided to drop by and I am so glad we did. The drinks were amazing and the food was fantastic! We must've tried darn near every food item on the menu because everything sounded so good. We started with the Shishito peppers and they were sweet and mostly mild. A hot one every 10 or so peppers. Then we had the Spaghetti Squash Pad Thai which was great! We almost ordered a second. Masubi was good. Different than normal Masubi, but good nonetheless. We tried a massive amount of their drinks and all of them were lip-smackingly amazing. The Lava Flow, Saturn, Pain Killer, and a number of their beers were all worth going alone. Everyone that worked there was amazingly kind and more than willing to walk us through our first time there. The DJ that was there with a myriad of vinyl records kept the atmosphere buzzing with Hawaiian Beach music from all decades. If you happen to be in the area, drop by. Needless to say, after $350+ I would recommend The Bamboo Club to anyone looking for a Tiki bar in Long Beach. Drop by before your cruise to get you in the island/vacation mood. We will be back!
Mock-tails were fantastic and delicious. Fried spam musubi was a great twist to what we know. The pork belly was tasty but small in quantity. The vegan unagi burger was full of flavors. I didn’t like much the macaroni salad which was too greasy to eat and not much flavor. They do have other vegan options which are amazing. The Thai tea crème brûlée was a great way to end the meal. I highly suggest the drinks.
Great atmosphere! There is indoor and outdoor seating so you can pick what fits for you. Large drink and food menu with a ton of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, which I really appreciated. If you're sober or don't drink you can order fun tiki-style drinks without alcohol and they're all delicious. They have traditional Hawaiian style food options with plenty of vegan versions as well. I highly recommend the vegan Loco moco. Great place to hang out with friends and your dog! It gets very busy on weekends and event nights, so go for happy hour during the week or make a reservation for the more popular days.
I'm very conflicted about the Bamboo Club there are things I really like and things I don't. I believe that the Bamboo Club has potential to be a great Tiki bar but has some things to work on. I'll start with the PROS: I love the look of the building from the outside it looks like it from the 1960's and that is a really good thing. The inside also has that same vibe with straw and lights adorning from the bar. Now let's get to the drinks! The drinks are really really good! We tried the U. S. O. Monroe, Slap and Tickle and the River Dragon all very distinct in flavor and delicious. I definitely want to try more they have many. The food is very unique and flavorful. Loco Moco was tasted how it should and the Scorpion Burger very was nice and spicy. Now to the CONS: I made reservations on a Sunday at 5pm and arrived on time but when I got there the host said everything was taken. So what is the point of making reservations? I believe it's mainly just to have a estimate of how many people might show up that day. I will say that the host / waitress did not have us wait long for a table. I might be getting old but the music was just to loud on bad sound system, very distorted and unpleasant. I'm not sure if the Bamboo Club is really embracing the Tiki Vibe and experience they have great Tiki cocktails but also serve Modelo. I think beer should be available but you can still find beer to fit the motif of Tiki. The Tiki experience really needs to be at the forefront of the location. There is this community of Tiki enthusiasts who are dying for more locations to visit and most of them are more than willing to spend cash to have that experience. When you have people in there who are going to be drinking Modelos getting dunk and start kicking stools you are not helping your cause. There is also this feeling of not really being welcome but it could have been that they were to busy to really to be more hospitable. I think The Bamboo Club has great potential to be a place Tikiheads will want to go. I understand that it is fairly young establishment and all that comes with time just like Golden Tiki in Las Vegas so I am very hopeful that it does in the future. All in all I do plan on going again just to see if maybe I just went on a bad day and maybe it will be different.
