Safe storage facility, awful service when it counted:

I had a storage unit here for 3.5 years. The only contact during those years was when I was making payments. While there was not much service to be done, they were always friendly when I went in to make payments.

After about a year I started doing online payments.

When it came time for me to move out I wasn't sure how to terminate my contract, so I reached out to ask. I left a voicemail three months before I needed to move out with no response. Two months out I left another voicemail and sent a comment form to them via their website. One month prior I left another voicemail and another comment form, this time saying that I have reach out multiple times with no response and that I will be discontinuing contract effective the end of the month.

Come the next month, I get a call saying that I've missed a payment and I explained that I tried reaching them for three months asking how to terminate my contract and that the unit is empty. The man became extremely rude saying that they had received no such contact from me and that I need to pay the months rent and late fee. He began using excuses such as "what if the telephone lines were out?", "what if you called the wrong number?" and "what if you were on the wrong website?" Keep in mind that this is the same website I use to make payments every month and number programmed in my phone for years. At one point in time, he raised his voice at me saying that I was not telling the truth and it was my fault that I didn't get ahold of them and that I need to pay that months rent and late fee. I told him that that I have been a loyal customer for over 3 years and that this is not the best way to handle this situation on the last month. I wasn't getting anywhere with him because he was so dead set that I was lying, so I paid the amount.

One day later he called back saying that he looked into their website and realized that they had not been receiving comment forms from anyone for months, not just me. Still not sure about the missing voicemails, but I left three for sure. He did not apologize and did not offer to reimburse me.

This was the absolute worst service I have ever had from any company and I am appalled that this man spoke to and accused me the way he did over something that was so simple and ended up being a technical issue on their behalf.
