My family has been coming to Seeley Lake every year for the 4th of July for over 25 years. We have used this motel more times then I can remember. Last year we had our first bad experience and we will NEVER be staying there again. Most of us stay in our campers in one of the many campgrounds, but there is always a select few that are getting older and stay in the motel. While having a family gathering at the campsite my aunt gave me her key to her room one evening to go and give my 3 year old nephew a nice warm bath, we had been camping for 4 days. Along with me I took his sister who is 5, and another cousin who is 6. When we arrived I focused on getting the baby in the bath tub, in the meantime the girls were playing around and let my dog out of the back of the truck. Before I could get him back in the truck two people were pounding on the door. I opened the door and they, a man and a women started to yell at me for having a dog in the room. They said "dogs are not allowed". I apologized and said the kids had let the dog out of the truck and I was in the process of putting the dog back in the truck. The man remained mad and in a very intimidating and loud voice he said if I didn't evacuate the premises he was going to call the Sheriff. I told them it was my Aunt's room and she had given permission to be there. They threatened to evict my Aunt and Uncle if I didn't leave. I quickly loaded up 3 VERY SCARED children, one of them wet and half naked, and left while they stood there to watch us leave. They did not care and told me to "GET OUT!" I can not believe that someone who is in the hospitality business could be so cruel. This motel is NOT children friendly or friendly for anyone. I suggest you stay somewhere else.

Mike Gordon left without paying his bill and as of today he still has not paid for his rooms or addressed the issue with us. The last review written by him was rude and inappropriate. He left out a lot of details. He came with dogs in the back of his truck, and later in the evening the dogs were not in his truck anymore. When he checked in he never mentioned he had dogs. We do not allow dogs at this motel, so right after he got back to the motel that night, we went to ask him if he had pets and if he would like to move to the other motel where we do welcome pets. We never meant to insult anyone, we just have rules about no dogs. His inferring that we were intoxicated was way out of line as we strive to take great care of our customers and are here for them 24/7. As for Amanda, she never was a paying guest for us, as you read she was in her aunt and uncles room, she should have never been here for any reason, when people pay for a motel room, its based on how many people, sounds to me like they were trying to steal our services.

We have stayed here before several times but NO MORE! We were relaxing in our room and the owner banged on our door at 9:PM. When I opened the door a apparently drunk owner and his wife were standing in front of me and he blurted out "Do You Have Pets In Your Room". Taken aback I said "no come in and look" I was really thinking I shouldn't be talking to someone this crazy at this time of night! Needless to say we were gone 7AM. I will never stay at Seeley Lakes "Bate's Hotel"/ Seeley Lake Motor Lodge again!
