Anything in the menu is delicious and the service is phenomenal! Traditionally, they serve the hummus and babaganoush with pita bread but I like mine with veggies like carrots and cucumbers. Their server was so pleasant that added them to the appetizers just for us! Our favorite dishes are falafel, chicken kebab, beef shish, and salmon! Our favorite dessert is kunefe. We love this place and try to come at least once a month.
Very, very delicious Turkish food served here. I believe the owner of Selamis is the same as Turkish Kebab House and Aspendos, but I can't compare the three yet although now I want to try them all out. This was still up there are some of the best Turkish food in the area. I ordered the labne/labneh haydari, pita, and rice pudding. I've hard haydari lebneh at another local Turkish spot, Turkish Grille, and I enjoy Selami's version a bit more. It looked exactly like it did on the photos. They use a generous amount of nuts walnuts, it's nice and creamy, a bit salty, but not oily. I also like the little bit of herbal flavor in it. The portion was a little small, but the quality was definitely very high. The pita was somewhat standard, but it's always nice to get some free bread so can't really complain there. They did only give me one piece of bread, but it was quite fresh and still soft. The rice pudding was surprisingly delicious. At first, there was a top layer with a strange texture on it it felt like jello. But, after I took a bite, I feel in love. It was very creamy, mildly sweet, and just perfect. I ended up enjoying the slightly harder top layer with the cinnamon. All in all, I definitely recommend trying this place out if you're in the mood for Turkish food in this region. The food comes in slightly smaller portions than you may be used to for takeout, but the food is very high quality.
We had heard about this place and so the 3 of us tried it out on a Sunday evening. Greeted straight away by the waitress and sat near the window. This is a cozy place and feels like home, very positive vibe. Menu was easy to read, lentil soup and borek as appetizers were a hit. We asked for Turkish hot sauce and it was promptly served and was very tasty. The fries and pita came next and fries were crisp and plentiful. Once the main course combos came, we could tell it was cooked well and very flavorful. The doner, chicken and shish kebab were all juicy and packed with flavor and had a nice char. For dessert we got the baklava which was also very authentic and made in house. Overall this is a very authentic Turkish place, friendly staff and tasty food.
Very good halal Turkish food. Nice ambiance Very friendly customer service Kids love the food too We had the following: Mixed grill Karisik Izgara $26.99 Fried calamari Turkish tea and Cigarette Borek / Sigar Boregi $6.00 for appetizer
Good Turkish food in a lovely ambiance. Fav: Baba Ghanoosh and lamb chops, gotta try the in-house made Baklava Turkish coffee was good. Falafel and Turkish tea can be improved.
Sadly had a good friend move from FL to PA, and I decided to provide a small meal. Moving makes you hungry and too tired to cook. Took a chance at nearby Yelp recommendations and picked this place. Not only was the food delivered quickly and safely, but my friend was so impressed with the taste. Her husband stole the Babaghanoush and wouldn't share, it tasted so good, lol. She called me to let me know she found her first favorite place to order from and eat and she's trying more of their menu items. She states the owner was super sweet even calling her to ensure she had utensils to eat with.
Stopped here for lunch. Everything was just beyond delicious and fresh. Don’t miss this almost hidden gem. Superlative, and the wait staff so friendly. Come here and be renewed!
The first time I went to Selami’s Turkish Kebab House, I didn’t know what to expect. However the welcoming waiter and the attention he paid to me and my family, even though we were ordering to go, was fantastic. We three of us had both lamb and chicken kebab - two kebabs with a nice amount of rice, salad and a pita. My husband had lamb, my son had chicken and I couldn’t decide so I had both. For dessert we had the baklava and it had me dreaming of more! Our waiter was quite gracious and attentive and offered us Turkish tea while we waited. The tea was delicious and helped me to relax and wind down for the delicious dinner to come. Thank you! About the food - the kebabs were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The sauces - a spicy red sauce and a yogurt sauce - were the perfect addition addition to the meat - just the right amount of tang and spice! The rice and salad was the right amount of carbs and veggie and also helped to enhance the deliciousness of the kebabs. For me, the meal was taken over the top with my first bite of the baklava. I think I had dreams of that baklava - sweet but not overly sweet with perfect crispy phyllo and just the right amount of pistachio. My husband and I were so impressed with the first take out we had that we went back for dinner take out two days later. Again our waiter was fantastic - very attentive and that Turkish tea - yummy! The second time we both orders the lamb kebabs. Yes - the lamb won me over from the first time. Yes - the baklava was perfect! The next time I’m in Pittsburgh, Selami’s will be one of the first places we come for food - and I think we will we dine in! Thank you Selami’s Turkish Kebab House for two wonderful meals!
Stopped in today for lunch. A friend of mine has suggested it to me. Food and service was very good. Had to cut my lunch short though so I hope to come back again.
First time ordering. Fast delivery and the food was hot. Ordered the humus and salmon kabob. So delicious and filling. Will definitely order again!
