One of a kind jewel, since 1947 serving classic favorites: steak , fish and lobster and modern vegetarian, grains, salads, all housemade with in-house desserts and ice cream!

The best service I've ever had. The food was fantastic and the views are amazing. The steak was over cooked for both entrees which were ordered one medium and the other medium-rare. Easily both on the side of well done. But that didn't detract from the overall experience. I will go back.

Classiest restaurant in Santa Cruz! Best place for a special occasion, expensive but worth the quality, service, and ambiance. For a cheaper experience you can eat in the bar that has a separate menu including wood fired pizza's. On Tuesday night's it's 2 for one select food items... Save the inclinator ride for your full belly going back up the hill. On the way down take the long way through the garden path, it's an amazing experience!

Went here for my birthday. What an elegant sophisticated place. Walk through the garden then take the trolley up to the restaurant. Food excellent. Service excellent. Atmosphere excellent. Will definitely revisit. Want to impress a date? Look no further!

We visited Shadowbrook Restaurant a few years ago for our Wedding Anniversary and the place did not disappoint. I am pleased to see the standards are the same judging from the recent reviews. We enjoyed taking the trolley to and from the restaurant. Mind you, at the time my Husband had just recently had knee surgery was in crutches. We got in and out of it without incident. Our dining experience was wonderful. The food was on point. The Staff were excellent and though the place was busy, we were not rushed at all and we were very well taken care of. Reservations are a must. The restaurant is large and ideal for Families large or small like ours. Whenever we will come back to Capitola, we will visit Shadowbrook again.

Restaurants should be remembered for their experiences as much as their food, and this place has both, in spades. My wife and two teen-age kids came here on vacation, and although the parking was difficult (on a Tuesday?!?) we did eventually find a spot in one of the lots and made our way to the elevator. The whole experience, from the ride down the "elevator" along the garden cliff, to the amazing interior, and then the wonderful food -- it was a time that we didn't want to end. Fortunately or unfortunately it did seem like we'd be there forever...often the waiter was no where to be found when we wanted a glass of wine or the check at the end of the meal. 2.5 hours for dinner, but in the most amazing setting. Highly recommended, just don't be in a hurry!
