They don't like Latinas here.  The first thing you'll is this gym is 95% White.  You would think the South won the Civil War by the looks of the place. All the woman who work here would stare at my suspiciously or with tension.  When I was given a tour prior to membership the blonde girl gave me looks like she was smelling something bad.  Once while on the glides machine,  the low impact fitness class instructor was telling about an argument with her daughter's Spanish mother in law (in Spain) and the whole time she was staring at me.  A whole class is in front of her and she's looking at me and I'm Mexican, I'm not even Spanish, and I'm not her mother in law.  Every time I walked and and place my stuff in one of the baskets or go get something from my bag one of the girls from the desk would come out and look at watch me for a little while like she thought I was stealing or something from another member's belongings When I informed the manager Hallie of this racism she replied, "Oh our housecleaner is Hispanic".  What an ignorant and racist statement and straight from the manager.  I finally was able to get my  1 month membership back, after all I didn't sign up to endure racism.  The thing is Shapemakers corporate headquarters is here Fresno less than 7 miles away.  You can't tell me they don't know about this behavior. Especially when all but one of their staff members is White.  I mean, really White women were the only ones that applied for a job here?  The proof is right there, the all White staff is proof enough. Shapemakers, the racist gym.

Shapemakers broke its contract to its clients by closing down Sundays starting in Nov 2011. Shame on businesses that don't keep their promises to their clients. Are they going to give them a 13%. Discount?  Let's wait and see. I hope all those folks who signed contracts know that they can leave because this business breached its contract to them.
