Getting my hair done with the amazing team at Sheila’s Shear Art has been the best hair salon experience I have ever had. I’m not well versed in hair terminology and I often have trouble explaining what it is I would like to do with my hair. But a few saved photos and an ultimate “vision” is all they need to help me achieve my dream look.  They never hesitate to answer any questions I have about how to keep my hair looking its best, and the quality of their products is amazing.  I highly recommend Sheila’s Shear Art for anyone looking for a high quality cut, with out all of the pomp and circumstance of a massive high end salon.  As long as you arrive with an open mind and a positive attitude, the team at Sheila’s Shear Art will welcome you with open arms.

I’ve been a client here for years and feel that Farzana doesn’t treat all customers the same.  Those that tip extremely well will be treated with royalty.  If you cannot afford to tip 18% or higher due to it extremely high prices, you’ll be given the guilt trip.  Tip is an option but they almost force you to dish out 18% or higher.   I get stressed coming here to do my hair and that’s not right.  You should feel excited about your outcome and experience.  The prices change without notification and she makes up her prices based on how she feels.  I used to travel 60 km to come here but not anymore.  You cannot change prices every time a customer sees you. I feel this place doesn’t care about the ALL customers. She refused me as a customer after travelling 60 km to be at my appointment. She doesn’t deserve loyal customers.

I've been a loyal customer of Sheila's for over two decades, and every visit reaffirms why I keep coming back. Over the years I've gone through a couple styles, I can confidently say that Farzana and the entire team at Sheila's consistently deliver exceptional service.  First and foremost, the atmosphere at Sheila's is warm and inviting. Walking in feels like coming home; the staff is not only highly professional but also genuinely friendly. Over the years, I've developed a great rapport with the team, and it's evident that they value their clients.  Now, let's talk about the skill and expertise of the stylists. Farzana, in particular, has been my go-to for as long as I can remember. Her attention to detail is unmatched, and she always takes the time to understand exactly what I want.  The cleanliness and organization of the salon are also noteworthy. The space is always impeccably maintained, and hygiene is clearly a top priority. It's evident that the team takes great pride in their work environment.  In summary, if you're looking for a reliable, friendly, and skilled hair salon with a touch of timeless charm, look no further than Sheila's. Two decades of satisfied haircuts speak volumes about the quality of service they consistently provide. I can't recommend them enough!

I have been getting my hair cut by Farzana for 18+ years and I would never go anywhere else. Not only is she a true pleasure to spend time with, but I leave the salon feeling more myself and more confident than I do when I come in. Farzana is such an expert in knowing what your hair needs and suggesting styles that work. I trust her entirely with my hair and I’ve never been disappointed. I look forward to each appointment and can’t recommend her salon enough.

I recently decided to change hairstylists and live close by.  I could not have made a better decision.  From the moment I met Farzana I knew I could put complete trust in her when it came to my hair.  I have been a blonde for as long as I can remember.  She asked if she could make me a redhead and wow!  I never knew this is the colour that I was always meant to be.  And her blowouts lasted me 4 days.  She makes you feel welcome as soon as you enter the salon.  Positive energy all around.  If you need a welcomed change this is the place to come.

I have been going to Farzana for 10+ years and have never been disappointed! She is always full of positive energy, thoughtful insight and helpful suggestions - for my hair and all the things we spill to our hair dressers!  Both Farzana and Rabia are incredibly thorough. Whether I’m in for a wash and trim or highlights, they listen to my ideas and make sure I leave with a style that fits my lifestyle and makes me feel refreshed and beautiful!  Thank you, ladies! HORRIBLE experience, mostly due to the inflexible and hostile treatment by owner Farzana. For the past 25 years as a Greektown resident, I have had mostly good to great customer service at the many local businesses I frequent.  But I was appalled at the terrible treatment I experienced at Sheila’s Sheer Art. The stylist's straight blow-dry on my shoulder-length curly hair only took 12 minutes, versus the usual 45-60 minutes at most salons. She accidentally burned my forehead twice with the hairdryer during this rushed process. Farzana refused to give me a discount, and angrily told me she didn't believe me that my forehead was burned because there were no red marks, and that my remarks were an insult to her stylist. By this time, I had lost all faith in the salon, and no longer wanted to use my credit card to pay. I told her I would pay full price, but needed to go next door to get cash back. She said no and blocked the front door. I then tried to reassure her that I would indeed return to pay, suggesting that she come with me next door for her peace of mind, and reminding her that I am a long-term local resident and that she had my phone number and email address. She still refused and then called some apparent security person on the phone.  I reluctantly gave her my credit card and told her I did not want to add a tip. She said "You do not have to tip." She did not give me a receipt until I asked for it, and to my dismay, I discovered that she had added on a $15 tip to the full-price credit card charge!  She did not admit fault but hurriedly gave me $15 cash back. At Bob and Paige, and at Yorkville salons, you’ll pay the same or less, but unlike this place, you’ll get a great blow-dry and warm, professional customer service.

The salon is clean and welcoming. You are treated like family. Farzana is incredible! She takes the time to listen to what you want and explain how it can be achieved. She is a colour genius! I trust her completely with my hair and highly recommend her!

When my hairstylist cancelled my appointment without any notice, and left me standing in their salon without accommodation, I went to Sheila's, which is in the same neighbourhood. Farzana graciously took me in as a walk-in, for which my hair and I were so grateful for. She did an amazing job on my hair, was very knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed.
