If you like dive bars, this is the spot. Happy hour specials, lunch specials, everything you would expect. Regulars line the bar every weeknight. There is plenty of booths for groups, and a larger group room in the back. Beer on tap ranges from cheap to a few local micro brews. Drinks here are always served with no pretentiousness.

Best service from Denver Wendy is the gorgeous daughter from the owners and treats everyone so humble and so polite, this bar is Denver at its best. I love this bar and the owners and the staff! Thank you for sticking up for equality rights here in Denver!

Came in here while in town from Atlanta visiting a friend from the Marines in the hospital. Was just looking to grab a bite to eat and cool off. As a disabled veteran with a blood clotting condition, I had my service dog with me (in a vest and well behaved). After hearing another visitor talk about how adorable my dog was, the OWNER of this establishment proceeded to harass me about my dog, my disability, and tell me that I "looked fine". I told her it was illegal to say that and she proceeded to say "well you arent blind". All the while never walking around the bar to even look at my dog as he did his job. She told me "well in Colorado they have to be vested" actually. the ADA is a federal law and dogs do not have to be vested. Thank God I know the law because your lies will eventually hurt someone disabled. I left without eating and never got an apology. I will report her to the ADA. If you think the fine for having a dog is bad, you should see the fine for being non-ADA compliant. This restaurant is not disability nor veteran friendly. *** This was over a month ago and they have not bothered to reach out and apologize for breaking the law. They deleted their facebook page though. Not exactly good enough, Shelbys.

Walked in as an out of towner, staying at the hotel across the street. We thought we'd go in and get some food and fresh drinks. I had a cup in my hand with a swallow left (we walked over). Barely made it in the door when I got screamed at by the bartender, told to get out OUT with my drink, how dare I, what's wrong w/me, etc, etc. I explained we were there to order food and drinks, the reply was 'grill is closed, get out with your drink'. WOW, thanks a-hole bartender at Shelby's. A little kindness works sometime. I could have gotten rid of that cup in half a second flat, sat down, ordered a new drink and carried on w/my night, but no. You had to be a d!ck. I then posted a review on facebook, where someone wrote back arguing w/me, blamed me, then blocked me from their facebook page. I can write reviews all day, or you can accept responsibility for your actions. The choice is yours. Be a little nicer, you could have made $100 easy off of us that night.
